opps. def my favorite meg & dia song. i think it is about getting high ("the spot where the drunk never got to") and not really caring, at that moment, whether you die or not ("If I never surface, then it doesn't matter"). the ocean is a metaphor for the writer's sensation of being high ("rocks me gently silent, silent"). like the feeling when you're at that right place where you're at peace with and accept all the events, good and bad, of life. also, the ocean and its waves are a symbols for the constant ebb and flow and happiness and sadness in life. |
