I think its about something that happened to her in the past. I can relate to this song because I've done somethings I'm not proud of, and although I have become a better person out of it, I still don't like to look back on that year where I made some horrible decisions. I see it as someone did something to her, but she forgave them. She probably just used Kanye because that was in front of the whole world, but the emotion in the song isn't right for the Kanye situation. Maybe I'm wrong, but thats what I think. |

Its definitely not about his heroin addiction. Hes never even been drunk. Hes been straight edge for almost his whole life. I think it means many things. That's one of the reasons why I love Rise Against, their songs can mean so many different things and appeal to so many people. This is my favourite song ever. |

I am going through this with my so called best friend right now. She stabbed me in the back and I just can't forgive her for it. When I first heard this song, I knew it was awesome. And I started thinking about the meaning and the lyrics and realize that this song is perfect. We always talked about the future and how we would be best friends always. She never liked a lot of my friends, so I just hung out with hers, and now, I have no friends because I never really liked hers, so now I have to start over, making new friends, getting in touch with people I grew up with. When I hear "A show of hand from those on this audience of one, where have they gone?" I think of how I used to trust people, and now I feel like I can only ever trust me. "The surface shines while the inside rots." self explanatory. I think this song can mean so much to so many people in so many ways. That's one of the reasons why I love Rise Against so much, they touch so many people with the same song. Their songs can mean so many different things. I thought this album was fantastic. Appeal to Reason and Siren Song Of The Counter Culture are definitely my favourites!!!! |
