This is exactly how I see it. Elegantly put. QOTSA is sex incarnate. |
Nirvana – Pennyroyal Tea Lyrics | 13 years ago |
First I want to thank everyone of you for your interpretation and comments. They brought the real beauty to realization for me. Even the stupid ones. From a neophyte of all that is Nirvana, I felt this song is so close to who he was. Whether or not he was trying to be complex in this song, he probably wouldn't admit to it or even realize it. The fact is he IS a Truly Gifted artist. He couldn't Help but create a masterpiece, and he'd be the first in line to criticize it and himself. Empathy, my friends... There are others cursed/blessed with it too. Here's to that Leonard Cohen afterworld my dear friend... Cheers. http://www.kurtcobain.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/the_note.jpg |
M.I.A. – The Message Lyrics | 13 years ago |
What a perfect beginning to her new Album. What an artist! Paranoia comes with the territory... But we're closer to '1984' then most would like to realize... Patriot Act! Homeland Security! America lead the way! |
Bright Eyes – Sunrise, Sunset Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Person L – The Positives Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is about college for me. Like when those friends leave and you see them again, either planned or unexpectedly, they've changed so much. We all change, but I'm very lucky my close friends are still, and always will be, the people I love. |
Modest Mouse – People as Places as People Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I enjoy your meaning the best because it coincides with how I see it closely. To let you know a bit more about what I envisioned, I was smoking, and I tend to find deeper meanings in songs when I do. Ha... Anyway, I was listening and I felt we spend our whole lives trying to be like the people we look up to, fill ourselves with the places we want to go, that we literally become the people we wanted to know, or we find out that all our lives we were looking for someone and we missed knowing who we were. And, in essence, we're the places that we wanted to go. Like I'm "Alaska" because I want to go live tere someday, which, now that I'm thinking about it, would help make the video for this song a bit more relevant, since the girl's boyfriend is a tree, and she finds him in a forest with a treehouse... Perhaps his place he wanted to go? Possible. A final note, when I was listening to: "I hardly have places that I need to go Because you're the places that I wanted to go Yeah, you're the places that we wanted to go Yeah, you're the places that we wanted to go" I felt like he was talking to us, his fans. How many times I wished I'd have had friends that listened to this music and "got" it and grew up with me. MM wishes that they could know all of us. Even rock stars get lonely for some "true" friends I'm sure... |
3OH!3 – Don't Trust Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. More and more these days, artists are coming out with songs that best reflect their lives and the lives of those around them, more specifically this generation. Songs gain popularity in this day and age, just as they did however many years ago. People relate to them. Fans will always search out what rings true in their own hearts and mind, and this song does that for me. |
