baccus: have you lived under a rock in the past seven years? song of freedom = policies of president bush belly full of lies = policies of president bush fifty-second state = iraq (wait, what's the 51st? oh yeah, afghanistan) star-spangled = flag of the u.s., isnt'it? sorry, but the magick thing just doesn't add up. first of all, as you recall, the member of the oto is page, not plant. second, mighty rearranger is (also) a political album, with songs like freedom fries and another tribe taking a stance against the wars of our present and - at least freedom fries - the policies of the current u.s. government. I just don't see him making a confuse attempt at re-evoking themes of his time with led zep over thirty years ago. plant as an artist is living a beautiful present, why should he be looking back? |
