I've Outgrown That Fucking Lullaby Same Thing I've Always Heard from You Do as I Say Not as I Do I used to think that part went: I'm no stoned, I'm fucking horrified Same Thing I've Always Heard from You Do as I Say Not as I Do It just kinda made sense to me. Like when a parent is so paranoid over their child's well being, that it becomes frightening to the kid, so a parent might mistake the horrified look on their face & think their all fucked up on drugs. And besides that, the "Do as I say, not as I do" line reminded me of an old PSA where a dad found his son's drugs & was yelling at him "Where'd you get this? Where'd you learn how to use it?" & the kid says "I learned from watching you!" So... yeah, that's what I thought it was for the longest time. (If I'm singing this song, I still substitute that line sometimes, just cause I still like how it sounds) |
