Madonna – Dear Jessie Lyrics | 7 years ago |
I like this song very much. Does anyone know the video and can explain to me why there are the letters "a", "k", "j" in it a few times? It's during the parade of comic-characters |
Die Ärzte – Hurra Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Lyrics may be very hard to understand when you're not a native speaker. F.e. "6 Richtige" is a usual expression for winning the lottery (you have to choose 6 out of 49 numbers). I always thought the song criticizes the common meaning that everything was much better in the past. You remember only the good things in the past and see only the worse things in the present. Of course the song is ironic but I don't think it's about the reunification of germany and the words of the former chancellor "es wird dort blühende Landschaften geben" (means something like that in the former east germany everything will be fine soon). I think the song shall let us look in the mirror and see, that not everything we see and experience right now is bad. |
Chris De Burgh – A Spaceman Came Travelling Lyrics | 11 years ago |
"When two thousand years of your time has gone by" - Okay, expecting it was the sound that could be heard on Jesus' birth nearly 2000 years has gone by when Chris der Burgh sang it (once again) on his album "Spanish Train and other Stories 1975) and the mankind (a part of course) heard it "again". |

Only she can see the way that I fell -> feel |
Rammstein – Pussy Lyrics | 13 years ago |
My favorite expression is "Blitzkrieg mit dem Fleischgewehr" -> "Blitzkrieg with the flesh-rifle" nice analogy for 'having sex' :-) |
Michael Jackson – Who Is It Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Hmm, my english isn't good enough :-( Does anyone know what "Woe unto thee" means? Back to the story. I watched the video and it looks like he fell in love with a prostitute (and he did not know about her job). He thought it was real love and maybe she promised him everything only to get a lot of money. You see a lot of girls there and the men in the background collecting the money. At the end it seems that a girl wants to quit the job and then got problems with them. Must be hard to fall in love that way. |
Dire Straits – Ride Across The River Lyrics | 15 years ago |
It's about mercenaries: "I'm a soldier of freedom in the army of man We are the chosen, we're the partisan" (Wikipedia: Partisan (military) - As a name for irregular forces..." Further it sounds more like "army of a man" not "army of men" and that describes it much better. |
Die Ärzte – Schrei Nach Liebe Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Also Bekante, Eltern, Mitschüler, die jemanden da reinziehen.

Wow, where do you all come from. Might be very difficult to analyze german lyrics for someone who's not a native speaker. And, Paphan, I agree. "Die Ärzte" are well known for using a lot of critics in their lyrics. |
