Metallica – The End Of The Line Lyrics | 15 years ago |
to me it seems like it's about addiction to technology (internet, tv) this notion probably stems from the line "new consequence machine, burn through all your gasoline" also "the slave becomes the master" seems to fit, seeing as people can let TV run their lives. overall i think it is a song about avoiding addictions so you don't waste your life. |
Metallica – My Apocalypse Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I don't really think this has to do with suicide bombings. I think thats just something we think about when we hear about explosives these days. So we cross that line Into the grips Double yellow line anyone? Deadly vision Prophecy reveal Death Magnetic Pulling closer steel Dreaming of car crash? What makes me drift A little bit closer Dead man takes the steering wheel What makes me know What time to cross over Forced to repeat until I feel Describing the dream, with an unnatural urge to cross into oncoming traffic. The dream repeats each night until one fateful night: Into the skin the bones they all rattle Future has passed We disagree Flesh gnaws away The bones they all shatter I thought to see the end in me See the end in me This time he doesn't crash. Before he "[climbed] out of this skin" but now "into the skin [his] bones they all rattle." He is shaken by a close call. He is surprised to be alive. Obviously this isn't a complete analysis and I've left out lines that don't go with this explanation, but seeing as the cover for the single has a crash scene, it isn't unreasonable to assume this is about a wreck. |

i think AWFNateDawg is right, since the single cover is an ultrasound screen. |

What makes me drift A little bit closer Dead man takes the steering wheel obviously this song is about zombie race cars. |
Devo – Peek-a-Boo Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I totally agree with fractured sanity on this one. I was just listening to it and I remembered that DEVO actually makes social commentary with their songs, so it couldn't possibly be about the "game" of Peekaboo! Anyway I came here to write about it but fractured sanity has it covered. |
