@GlamourWithStammer - "But why does he include Hitler in this song?" - Gee, maybe Jimmy saw that photo-shopped 4chan image of Hitler in emo clothes and swooped comb over like the rest of the internetz and he thought it'd be funny to include in the song? There's also the joke that Hitler was "the original emo kid," because he put a cyanide pill in his mouth and 'BECAME AN HERO' with his bitch, Eva Braun, in a bunker after losing the war. @petbreak - HEY BATMAN, WHY SO SERIOUS? Okay, so emo kids didn't go around murdering Jews. But they do have that whole "scene" shit where they all copy off each other and look exactly the same, and sing about the same old shit. Maybe it was cool when Deathcab for Cutie was doing it, but like anything, after the labels picked it up and commercialized it, it became generic. The "emotion" part of it stopped being genuine once EVERYBODY was doing it and every radio station and video channel was playing it. The labels don't give a shit about giving the people anything new or unique, they just want to put out whatever is going to sell and then mass market it in Hot Topic to impressionable 12 year olds. Thus, you get your MCR's, your AFI's, your Fallout Boys, your Red Jumpsuit Aparati, and a gazillion others that are just a repeat of Backstreet Boys and N'sync but with pale makeup, color striped hair and dark clothes. "If your still doing this cuz you believe in it, you are so fucking lame!" This is the mainstream corporate label whore saying to the new guy: 'if you're really making music with a message and substance, you're dated.' "I am part of the problem, not the solution. I'm just a prisoner, in the same prison as you. We wait for other shoes to fall into position Already obsolete, no one will miss us at all." He knows that he's no more well off than those he criticizes. Just by being in the music industry, he's another cog in the machine and once they're over, the labels will pick some new norm to force feed everyone and they'll be forgotten. "...Making us all indescribably indistinguishable from Each other, Or maybe I'm just another megalomaniac." Jimmy analyzes his own biases and "music purist" attitude and sees that even if he could kill off bands that don't fit with his idea of perfection, then it would only lead to another period of mass conformity and creative stagnation which would then need another musical holocaust to wipe away the new mainstream. |

| I love the heck outta this song, even better than Wierd Al's "Don't Download This Song." Great beat built around The Passenger by Iggy Pop. I'm more of a JRock fan and this song makes alotta sense to me. If it weren't for all these supposedly "hurtful" filesharing places there wouldn't even _BE_ a JRock fandom _outside_ of Japan. Dir en grey, MUCC, D'espairs Ray, nobody would know who any of those guys are if someone hadn't uploaded their stuff so people could discover them. And JRock cd's are pretty god damn expensive. $40 for just an Audio CD, and $50-70 for a DVD. Its no shocker that folks would sooner download it than buy it when it cost so frigging much. | |

"I am so all-american, I'll sell you suicide." Manson is referring to his own music, and the habit of stupid people killing themselves and the blame getting put on Music instead of the person's own existing mental issues. Before Manson, it was Judas Priest, AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, they were getting the blame and having to go through court trials. "Everybody's someone else's n*gger, I know you are so am I" means everybody is someone else's scapegoat. Whether its blacks, gays, or "towel heads" people always need someone to dump their hate on and that will never change. "I hate the hater" this is a philosophy I hold dear to, I hate BIGOTS, I hate RACISTS, I hate FRED PHELPS, and I hate psychotic cultists Christians who bludgeon their kids with a rock because "God said to do it!" I would love to do to those people what Hitler tried to do to the Jews, and I take no shame in that feeling because I love the irony in it... I HATE THE HATER... I AM BIGOTED TOWARDS BIGOTS. That's how I think that line is meant to be taken. "Let's just kill everyone, let your God sort them out." This is a common line used among rednecks, I remember hearing it once in my school after 9/11, some snuff-chewing asstard hick was like "Just nuke all them thurr sand n*ggers and let God sort 'em out." Manson is taking a stab at our ignorance and quickness to be violent, but he aplifies it by saying "Kill EVERYONE" instead of any one specific group, I've always said "The only way to end Racism is to nuke the whole f*cking planet." |
