First off this is a beautiful song, one of my favorites off the album. But for the history, this song is dedicated to a man named Augie Nieto(go figure). He was a big fitness person who one day got ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease. After being diagnosed he immediately funded an organization to one day hopefully find the cure. Now for the interpretation... i think for the part "He's running through the night, He'll die before he sleeps" means that he's putting all his time and effort to discover a cure, but will not be able to discover it quickly enough to save himself. and for the whole "Augie Nieto has never been happier" and "Now he's carrying the whole team" means that he thinks he got the horrible disease because he is the one to find a cure for it, and to help other who have it too. i dont know, thats just what i got from it. |
