Val Emmich – High Noon Lyrics 14 years ago
Easily one of my all time Val Emmich favorites.

It's a pretty simple song about feeling really strongly about somebody (maybe someone who's not so good for you) and wanting to give up completely in resisting.

I think the lines "this little crush weighs a ton" and "One move and I will scream/Things are much worse then they seem" are my favorites and also do a fantastic job in summarizing a lovely song. :)

Jeff Buckley – If You Knew Lyrics 15 years ago
One of my favorite of his live songs.

Beautiful because of the emotion conveyed and as Kresju said, because of the little idiosyncrasies.

Love how the last line, "I love you, I do", was sung. Gorgeous. :)

1986 – In love with a girl Lyrics 16 years ago
This certainly isn't a metaphorical or difficult song to understand but it's sort of refreshing that way. Sometimes I want to just hear a good pop song about love. Minus the terrible angst and the unnecessary and often overdone metaphors of love.

Like I said, it's just a good song. I'd say Gavin DeGraw has definitely improved his song writing and singing from the sound of his new album, which I love.

My love the whole first verse, especially "Take the pain of protecting your name from the crutch to the cane to the highwire."

James Blunt – Carry You Home Lyrics 16 years ago
I really do think this song is about a fallen soldier and how his/her comrade is returning to relay the message, "carrying" the soldier home.

It's a poignant reminder of war's cruel reality. I really love this song and the way the last "I'll carry you home" is very touching.

Whether or not you agree with war, you can't really deny that the soldiers involved are truly exceptional men and women.
