This song is about peoples exits from the world, "cuts and bruises" and how people use drugs and material things to make them happy and it ends up screwing them, references to the road leading south, means things get worse. "i watched as witches bathed my feet." this means we know its wrong but dont do anything about it, we just let these things happen, and when we want out, we cant, hence "Country road Take me home To the place Where I belong I'm so homesick And I can't see straight I'm not gonna make it It's getting too late" But here is the clincher to how i know its about this, when i saw He is legend live, this song schylur (the lead singer) introduced it as the "theme song to the UNIVERSE" and isnt our world about making us happy with material things such as, sex, money, drugs, alchohol, and then getting screwed for it and its to late to back out. |
