the song isnt about religion but in fact about the war currently going on. its like a song making fun of soldiers and how they listen to dumbasses like bush and become naive or oblivious to what they are actually doing. if your "discontent" to know your worlds a pile of shit. then listen to a riddle that will tickle it. the riddle being DUH the song and its basicallt tickling the fact that its dumb. ape in the song represents humans, possibly the soldiers fighting and killing. Humans shall not murder, Humans werent so sure like we arent sure why we had any fucking business in iraq in the first place.. Bad humans made a mistake and we fix it by killing each other. cultivation being proper morals couldve been good for us and raise us up unscathed " not injured". if we had called that fucker " MURDER" by what it really is. two wrongs dont make a right so how does murder fix anything?? |

im new to this and ive always wanted to share with people that are curious about of the same songs that i am curious about. i myself beleive that the song is about and only about religion and how it is corrupting everyones perspective of god. there are certain metaphors that relate to what good does religion do for god other than create madness for some and joy for other( " I REMAIN UNPERTURBED BY THE JOY AND THE MADNESS I ENCOUNTER EVERYWHERE I TURN"). ive seen it all along, in books and magazines is advertised and articles about the pope and religios wars and disputes and this is all for someone that is supposd to love us all and we are supposed to love...that person is GOD. he explains the fact that religion and the corrupt ways of it is always going to be there. like a twitch before dying, its going to be the last thing that people see before they die. like a pornographic sea, like sex without love its always going to be here. the flower behind the window is the joyful relationship with god, the ugly laughing man is a religious leader like the ones today possibly laughing in our face because his "religion" is the window in our way and preventing us to have our own joyous relationship with god. i am not sure that the generator is reffering to god but it could also be someone such as the pope that runs one of the biggest religions in our country. or any other religious leader...the ugly laughing man could be the generator. the humming bird in silence is one of the few metaphors that is stating what good is god if he is in certain religions. like what good is a hummingbird in silenc...what good are actors in a photograph if they arent in a movie ( movie being your own perspective of god) paper in the wind refers how he will stay unperturbed ( not agitated) by the joy and madness. paper in wind is just floating minding its own. hammer by the window is used to break the window and grab the flower, forget about all these religions and just have you own belief in god. use the knife to kill the laughing man is not nessicarely stating to kill someone but to kill off what everyone else is doing and all the religions and that you dont have to believe in them. this is my first time sharing my thought on such a great band and i hope that others can relate to my opinion. |
