I think the first bridge shoud be amended from "it's stunning" to "it's dawning," and "peculiar place" to "peculiar pace." What is his "older stuff"? The EP? It seems like he's still developing his own style and fighting against his influences... it's a bit like The Postal Service and early New Order meets All-American Rejects. This kind of suprise is why I miss D/FW. |

| I don't agree that it's a collection of lines that do not have anything to do with each other. It seems to me that the first and second lines are both about the same person and situation. It sounds like he started talking while he was feeling no pain and then was trying to preserve his dignity by not interacting with her the morning after. Like ''coyote ugly.'' ''Hitting bottom'' refers to the lowest point in a cycle of alcoholism. Aparently, he's never found it. | |
