Electric Six – It Ain't Punk Rock Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I think this is about the interpretation of art. "It ain't punk rock 'till the punk rockers say it's punk rock." What some perceive as art, others see as garbage, and usually the general agreement is made with the insight of a professional artist, who might be one of very few people of his understanding. Only punk rockers can tell if a song is punk rock. "I know its getting late, We should wrap this debate So let's dive under the covers where the good times await" The debate is on whether or not it's punk rock; the disagreement on the artistic value of something. Usually simply ceasing to discuss the matter (dive under the covers) brings everyone back to peace (where the good times await). "Every life needs a fate Every lad needs a mate Every seller needs a buyer Every oven needs a fire And if you're on fire, you're gonna need some water And if you're underwater, you're gonna need some air And if you're in the air, you're gonna need a place to land And if you're on land, you can come and see my piece of shit band!" Everything that exists require something else to coexist with it. Everything has a purpose. Everything artistic about a piece of art has its artistic purpose. Take a Rebecca Black song to a conspiracy theorist and see the kinds of Nazi references he can find in it. "Purpose", or logic, is the basis of artistic interpretation. Someone can write "fire" in his song lyrics and it can imply water, air, land, and band, because fire needs water to extinguish it, being underwater makes someone desperate for air, and being in the air causes someone to need a place to land. The last line says that being on land, one can come and see the piece of shit band. This is an example of hasty interpretation, where something is considered to be true just because it can be true. I wonder if "Not gonna be ya sweet billionaire, lover." refers to Electric Six themselves. Being devoted to their own style of art makes them far from mainstream and thus not as popular profitable as they could be. |
Electric Six – Gay Bar Part Two Lyrics | 14 years ago |
What's with the reference to There's Something Very Wrong With Us So Let's Go Out Tonight, Be My Dark Angel and She's White? I acknowledge that they are great songs anyway. She's White is my favourite Electric Six song. |
Electric Six – Dance-A-Thon 2005 Lyrics | 14 years ago |
My favourite song from Señor Smoke. " It's not how you dance It's who you know " I think it talks about the truth behind all the reality competition TV programmes, those having to do with the people's votes. You don't win because you're talented and such, but because you know people and people know you. But the dramatisation throughout the song confuses me. Is it showing that it's just what they try to propagandise the idea of it being "reality", when in fact it's just another play? And what's with the reference to Improper Dancing, lol. I love Electric Six because they rock and they're funny |
Electric Six – Pleasing Interlude No. 2 Lyrics | 14 years ago |
lol. Sex was the first thing I thought of, dirty me. It can actually mean a lot. People nowadays don't want to do things too fast, don't want to do things too slow. They don't like friends who don't treat them well, but also don't prefer those who treat them too well, etc. It's just me, maybe. I know it's Electric Six... |

Blur – The Debt Collector Lyrics | 15 years ago |
It's something like " One, Mississipi Two, Mississipi Three, Mississipi Four, Mississipi *instrumental* " According to metrolyrics that is, and however you spell Mississipi. But however, I thought it was " One, this is number Two, this is number...." I dunno if it's got any meaning though. |

Weird Al Yankovic – I'll Sue Ya Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Err.... the first three cases sound quite familiar to me, so maybe the whole song is 100% true? |
