Disciple – not the same Lyrics 16 years ago
I love this song and comletely relate to it. I'm a hardcore Christian, but my long hair, pierced ear, and love for CHRISTIAN rock often repulses people.

This song was inspired by a preacher that Kevin saw on the street. After the man was finished, Kevin went up to him and thanked him for what he was doing. The preacher seemed surprised, and asked how Kevin could be a Christian when he looked, dressed, and smelled like the rest of the world.

But, according to 1Samuel 16:7 (which is where the chorus is derived from), "Man looks on the outside, but God looks in the heart."

Our outward appearance, so long as it does not dishonor God (i.e. paganistic symbolism, etc.), is of little importance. It is our fruit that God looks at.

Thousand Foot Krutch – Favorite Disease Lyrics 16 years ago
I personally love this song. Trevor left an explanation for it in the lyric booklet. He said that it's about music, and about how it can sometimes get in the way of his relationship with God, with his wife, and his friends.

So music is the favorite disease, because it can be a deadly distraction, but he can also immerse himself in it.

As a musician, I completely relate to this song in every way. It's so easy to forget that it's all for Jesus and get so caught up in the sound and in your own talent. But we need to remember that music can be used for good or for bad, but when used for good, is a very powerful form of worship.
