Muse – Map of Your Head Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I personally think this is a kind of social commentary. "I'm sick of feeling my soul some people who'll never know just how purposely and empty they grow because their language confuses like computers refuse to understand how i'm feeling today" This is talking about people who are superficial and ignorant and refuse to look at the fact that their speech has made them useless and purposeless. Their language confuses because Matt is looking for something deeper and they just ramble on about pointless things. "i'm freezing and loosing my way i don't need another map of your head i'm freezing and losing my way i don't need another map of your head" He's cold and alone and feels lost, and their language is not guiding him anywhere in the right direction. He says he doesn't need "another map of your head", meaning he doesn't need their messed up thoughts about his situation, kind of how people you don't care about always try to give you advice on situations. "i saw a liquid controlled that gives life to a soul i hit my head on it and woke up to know that i was all alone wearing just socks and a phone someone's screaming like their world might explode" The chaos in the world is really displayed here. I don't think it's talking about alcohol, I think he's more commenting on the drug abuse that runs rampant in today's society. So he wakes up confused and dazed amidst the chaos of "someone screaming". |
