Oops... I think this song definitely portrays a guy with PTSD, tormented by the guilt of having survived when so many didn't. And yes, definitely about 9/11. |

dqcpsu, I like that. It also has a distinct "Our Town" vibe to me too. Like he's trying to take in and appreciate all the things that are so ordinary and aren't missed until they're (or you're) gone. Love the sound of this one. |

Yeah, I always thought this was about someone's first glimpse of the world, like the world beyond childhood. There's a lot of shit out there and it can be "blinding", lol! Age wise, it feels like its about someone a little bit older than the character in "Growing Up". That's the forest to me. Its interesting to hear so many discussions about the the trees. |
