Editors – An End Has A Start Lyrics 16 years ago
I think the reason for ordering the line, title, and album titles "an end has a start" is done to say that even an end, even death, creates a new start, a new story, it didnt start when you were born and it wont end when you die kinda thing.
That might be obvious though, I dont know, the fist time I heard it I thought it was just backwards because someone was dying and even that end had- previously, started with the persons birth, but now I think it means even that end has a new start that follows, so.. thats my opinion.

Circa Survive – Carry Us Away Lyrics 16 years ago
thisme, if I had to guess, Id say he may be Agnostic, because I feel like... he believes in something, just not from the traditional point of view. He's not denying God, it's almost like hes trying to figure it out while simultaneously turn away from strict teachings. But this is just me, I have no idea.

This song is really my favorite on the Album, I love the line fold your hands and get down on your knees, when he yells it and the song comes to a climax it just sounds angry, like hes fed up with the submission religion entails. To an invisible light, which is a great line, because light itself is... it is nothing. It's simply a wave spectrum that breaks down into colors and absences of colors, an invisible light is nothing more than darkness, the light of religion to clarify and lead is invisible, its not there... but some people can feel it. Enlightened or not, some people know it to exist. I don't know what this song is about but thats what it means to me anyway

Circa Survive – In the Morning and Amazing... Lyrics 16 years ago
i think infinite silence flowing right in with the dawn
could mean, if dawn can mean the beginning, as a kind of death, how he sleeps in infinite silence, which is wrong- he can't sleep without the radio on, the infinite silence of death, the eternal slumber that Hamlet compares death to, that concept is wrong, death would be unbearable, how could anyone sleep in infinite silence?
this is one of my favorite songs on the CD, I haven't payed as close attention to any of the other lyrics but I'm sure one could relate them to death or eternal sleep, some kind of dream, I do know that these lyrics, like most Circa has, are very surreal which is a big reason I love this band
the only thing I can safely say is this CD has very little to do with God or the Bible, in fact, I feel the song Carry Us Away is, again, like this song questioning death and afterlife, it questions the acts and actions of religious people. The albums title is On Letting Go, I think its a freeing of the bounds of religion, a letting go of the contradictions and hypocrisies of religion

Avenged Sevenfold – Gunslinger Lyrics 16 years ago
I don't think this is a war song, I think it's an outlaw song
A real classic souther rock kinda deal
The girl's dead and he's coming home to her, he's reached for the sky, giving up to the law, and he's going to die
The letters keep him warm, thats all he has left of her, her words.
I wont question why so many have died and the idea that she's in heaven and his prayers have made it through makes me feel that either he's reformed, or hes not actually guilty of being an outlaw, but hes tired of running or trying to prove it. But I definitly think its Strength of The World pt. 2. The line "she can't be found" makes me thing he went looking for her, her family was killed by outlaws and he was going to hunt them down, cold blooded. They took his whole life, nothing left to say.

Three Days Grace – It's All Over Lyrics 16 years ago
This is the best heroin song I've heard.

I know what runs through your blood (I know who you are/heroin)
You do this all in vain (you get high in vain- it wont last- you do this all in your veins- its brilliant)
Because of you my mind is always racing
And it gets under my skin (like the needle you stuck in your arm)
To see you giving in
And now your trip begins

The singer obviously cares about the person, they worry about the abuser and their mind is always racing, its hurting the singer that the abuser gives in and the addictions killing them, dead inside/hollow/just a shell/no personality- brain dead

Portugal. The Man – Horse Warming Party Lyrics 16 years ago
The civil rights movement angle makes a lot of sense, but I'm not 100% sold
Vietnam anyone? Maybe?
It really started for us in 65
Definite valleys, we were allied with the South
First war Televised
That giant was a fighter- Communism?
That devil- Communism had died in America, now we felt the need to irradiate it all over the world/Cold War
Wave those White flags- vs the Red flags? White Army opposed the Bolsheviks in the October Revolution
I dunno.. just throwin that out there

Sharpened tongues fair painted divers
Forearms rest in streams of silver
Golden people pass in silence
But it won't slip away

...that is too confusing for either argument in my opinion.
