The Cure – Lovesong Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This is a depressing song... how...? The tune and beat isn't overly depressing but a steady rhythem with no emotion what so ever. So that the emotion is setup in the lyrics of the song, not the beat, and making this is a beautiful love song. |
The Cure – From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This is yet another song dedicated to his lover who drowned at sea, too many people breathe too much into their songs and miss the literal meanings behind it. |
The Cure – Lullaby Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This song is about drug addiction to me. "On candystripe legs the spiderman comes.." When spinning around the lines of a candystripe give off an almost hypnotic effect, and the "spiderman" could be the manfeisation of his drug addiction. "Softly through the shadow of the evening sun Stealing past the windows of the blissfully dead Looking for the victim shivering in bed..." Boredom or lack of sleep usually leads to an intenise urge to take something. "And I feel like I'm being eaten By a thousand million shivering furry holes..." He obivously gave into his addiction and maybe the shirving furry holes can be the feeling of his heroin injections...? "And the spiderman is always hungry..." He's always going to need a fix. |
