Agreed it's about how science has supposedly failed us all. One of the most stupid songs in my humble opinion. Although i like SOAD as a band, this song made me lose major respect for them. "predicting the future of things we all know"?? "science has failed our world"?? If it wasn't for science, we'd still think the earth is flat, that the thunder comes from Zeus and we'd still be dying from leprocy, malaria etc etc. Science has taken this world out of medievalism and i find it retarded that SOAD are actually writing all these stuff. Still like the song's rhythm though. |

Well i have to agree that the Led Zep original version is definatelly more creepy and has that eerie feeling that the Tool version kind of lacks (in comparisson to the original ofc) but despite that, i like the Tool version a bit more. It's that power in "locked in a place where no one goesss" maybe or i dunno.. i just like it a tiny bit more. I spit on the comparisson between the two bands that i see in here though. Music is about the way you feel not about competition. So one likes Led Zep more and someone else likes Tool more. No need to be an ass and bash either of the bands. They are both awesome and have contributed greatly to the Rock we all love. Also, the Tool's version is not an attempt to copy Led Zep, as i saw some idiots say. It's a TRIBUTE, meaning that they wanted to edit the song of a band that has influenced them greatly. Definatelly the best cover i've ever heard |

Actually TheDark, Baal isnt a god. It's a meaning for "lord" or "master". And Beelzebub means "Lord of Zebub". Anyway i'll stop sounding like a geek now. Just dont confuse the actual stories with games that use these names in stupid ways. The song is orgasmic allright ;) |

I dont mind that its long. As JozzyJosbourne, said, its 23 minutes of pure bliss. It just makes me like it more. A true masterpiece. Defiantelly my favorite DT song and maybe just my favorite song ever. As for the meaning, i dont know about the first comment, about Portnoy dealing with his mother's death. (i really have to search on that :P) but it seems that it says about the stages of a man's life. Birth, growing up, maturing and finally dying. The 4 seasons idea is really brilliant. Like the circle of life... I really cant express how much i love this song. Fucking masterpiece |

"I LIKE BEANS" should be castrated, impaled and burned in public by the Blind Guardian fans.. You heard songs from one album and you think everything from BG is about LOTR? Anyway, i think we all agree its about Illiad and the Trojan War. The references are obvious. -"The newborn child would carry ruin to the hall, the newborn's death will be a blessing to us all" "We`ll face the storm created by a man" (obviously about Paris being the second born child, and his fate to be the doom of Troy with his decision) -"I feel that something`s wrong Surprise, surprise they`re gone" (the Greeks' fake retreat) and all the other references you've mentioned above. This song is a real masterpiece. It just keeps reminding me that Blind Guardian is by far my favorite band (the first live concert i saw was theirs too :P) |
