Ok this is for the "Christians" out there. U2 doesn't sing god is good god is great. They praise jesus, god whoever in almost every one of their songs. It isn't right in your face like most typical Christian rock bands do. And that right there is the beauty of it. They are the number 3 rock band EVER. They are arguably the best rock band today and were the #1 in 80's and early 90's. You tell me what Christian "god is good god is great" band that is #3 is the history of the world? They don't need to not curse or be "Christian" the fact they they are unfathomably awesome and loved by a shit ton of people and pimp god almost all the time, who gives a shit? God is hidden in their songs and that is the best way IMO. Don't be fake to yourself. When I die I am smoking a fattie and drinking some Sam Adams with MY Jesus. Playing Xbox with Edge and telling Moses how he sucks at Madden. Be real, Christ. |

The Edges guitar riffs combined with Bono's voice and lyrics in this song. Almost the #1 for me. I am huge U2. U2 is my fav #1. I think when he sings " I remember when we could sleep on stones, now we lie together in whispers and moans" I don't want to be captain obvious but to me it's we could withstand anything nothing could touch our love, but now we are venerable it's harder to cope. I don't know. I love to hear some of your interpretations. Such a good song and strong feeling when listening to it. |
