Skrillex – With You, Friends (Long Drive) Lyrics 12 years ago
(All my love)

We fell in love with our gravity
And I really miss you
All my love, you, you, you
I, I love you

We fell in love with our gravity
And I really miss you
I love, I love you, you, you
I, I love you

Could also say 'Mom I love you, you, you' or 'Oh my love, you, you, you'

Jimmy Eat World – My Sundown Lyrics 16 years ago
Another thing I forgot to mention, when the lead singer sings sundown, he more than likely means it in the 'Cowboy rides off into the sunset and moves on' kind of way, not some morbid slash your wrists, cry, and listen to MCR way. Get a little culture, people, quit being fed culture through the boob tube.

Jimmy Eat World – My Sundown Lyrics 16 years ago
It's a pretty simple song to figure out, it's pretty ambiguous so it can be applicable in many circumstances. The general outline is:

Guy (or girl.. whatever) sees himself in life. He believes he can be more. He tries for it. He is proud of progress he is making. He realizes no one cares. He is frustrated that no one cares, or just frustrated that he wasted time trying to be something he wasn't. He eventually comes to terms with the fact that no one cares, and decides to do it all for himself.

That's it in a nutshell. You could draw plenty of conclusions from it because of how vague the whole song is though. My conclusions, which are applicable to me, at least, are:

"I see it around me
I see it in everything
I could be so much more than this

I said my goodbyes
this is my sundown
I'm gonna be so much more than this"

Realizing I have lived my entire life for other people, achieving goals that weren't even mine. I was successful, but unfulfilled. I realized that I wouldn't be happy unless I actually achieved goals I thought were worthwhile. I literally said goodbye to everyone I knew and moved far away to do things that I wanted to do.

"With one hand high
you'll show them your progress
you'll take your time
but no one cares"

No one cares about your accomplishments. Pretty self-explanatory, and a very true statement, simply because... well, no one cares.

"I need you to show me the way from crazy
I wanna be so much more than this"

It will drive you crazy and make you hate life if all you do is fulfill the goals of other people and never fulfill your own, I know it drove me crazy for a while, crazy enough that I finally said:

"good goodbye
lovely time
good goodbye
tinsel shine
good goodbye
I'll be fine

good goodbye
good goodnight"

Just a reiteration of the fact that he is leaving everything behind to do things for himself for a change. This song has the same sort of meaning in this regard as a it of lyrics from their song For Me This Is Heaven - "If I don't let myself be happy now, then when? If not now, when?"

Nine Inch Nails – The Good Soldier Lyrics 16 years ago
Nice interpretations and such, but I'm pretty sure it's a simple one, nothing to do with this ARG stuff and drafting (drafting isn't around any more, guys.. lol) and prosthetic limbs and such.. lol

The main character narrating the story is just a soldier who doesn't agree with the war but is just doing his job. 'This is not where I should be' implies that he wishes he wasn't there, but everything else in the song says otherwise - it is merely his thoughts versus his situation. And the name of the song, 'The Good Soldier' implies that he is a good soldier, has a conscience, and is only doing his duty, which often enough takes you out of a 'good' frame of mind, because that's just war right there. I think the song speaks about the internal struggles a soldier goes through when he has a conscience but his objectives require some more violent and/or cruel actions that he doesn't agree with, but has no choice but to follow through with, because he is just government property after all.

This is coming from an infantryman.

See ya.

Angels and Airwaves – Distraction Lyrics 16 years ago
Eh, I thought Blink initially sucked. Then Boxcar Racer came along, and I enjoyed the CD, I could see how the musical style of Tom was progressing.. Slowly, their new-punk style was being replaced as they grew older to well-written, thoughtful music with a real message behind it. The last Blink album was relatively solid as far as Blink albums go, but still hinted at immaturity in their music.

With AVA however, I was genuinely impressed. I liked the style, I liked the lyrics, I liked the impressive level of production that went into the music itself and how all of their sounds mixed well.

But then again, this is just from an amateur producer's opinion. Not some 14 year old's. So I guess the vast majority of Blink fans will just assume that since it is by Tom that it's good, because we all need social and musical figureheads at that age.

AVA makes good music, so far. If they do anything like Blink, it will get better as time passes.

Boy Hits Car – As I Watch The Sun Fuck The Ocean Lyrics 16 years ago
Found this site while browsing the lovecorebb:

http://www.geocities.com/unheardbhc/

And it claims the lyrics for the song are as follows:

Break

Can we ever forgive love for its pain
A tragic poem that forever burns on my brain
The city's sweat is scaring her into her dreams
As the song screams to fill the quiet evenings

lock me up
Put your words on fire till I'm pure
I'm unattainable and crippled with desire
We'll float away from this mother fucking human world
It’s a wonder that she laughs I guess I caught her crying
I am not your savior
But I'm crippled with desire

Let the smile give her everything she needs
But I'm the song, the song she doesn't want to sing
Forgive me as, I burn into the evening.
I run from love, but seem to feel the pain
In these words, tearing me and make me bleed
Then we'd see as if you'll come and find me
light it enters and melts away emotion

As I watch the sun fuck the ocean crying

I am not your savior
but I'm crippled with desire
Cause I am not your savior
I wonder why
now I sit here crippled with desire

Desire

As for what I think the song is about? I honestly have no idea.. This song is nuts.

30 Seconds to Mars – From Yesterday Lyrics 16 years ago
Coming from an infantryman's viewpoint, this song could definitely be about a soldier.

However, I'm pretty sure it's about a ruler of some kind, a king or a dictator, for instance.

Eh, it could equally be about a soldier OR about a ruler, the words are fairly ambiguous.. My personal opinion is that the original song's meaning is about a militant ruler of some kind who is obsessed with conquering the world or something along those lines (maybe a reference to GW? Although I think the song glorifies it to a certain extent, and well.. no one really likes GW any more). That's been going on since the beginning of humankind, joining together in small groups, conquering little bits of the world to gain some level of control, so a lot of these lyrics make sense in that regard, really.

And it's not 'from a count to the one' or whatever, it is definitely 'from the council of one' or 'from a council of one', probably the latter if my ears are correct.

But personally, I just think it's an awesome song, and can relate to the lyrics because I've been a lot of places and love 'exploring'.
