i think its about an alcoholic family member thats been this way since he was a child, and as he grows he knows "i will never be like you," but yes..its also very tender and sad...so much internal battling |

i think this song/the whole album is about growing up in a home with an alcoholic parent or parents, and trying to protect a younger sibling or child. i think this song is beautifully written and full of pain and conflict. it sounds like he's with someone whos doing the wrong thing, but he's too close to ever "tell on you." |
