Bark Psychosis – The Loom Lyrics | 12 years ago |
wow, that comment i posted last year was a completely different me. this meaning, this whole album, is drenched in losing a true love and dealing with the emotions that follow. to me this song is about still caring about a loved one, even if they broke their heart, "you work so hard, but you don't know what it's like to be so sure". anyone who dates a woman knows how indecisive they can be. how lost they can get themselves. a weak man hates this about them. a real man will look at this trait with a kind of admiration and even love them for it. |
Have a Nice Life – The Big Gloom Lyrics | 12 years ago |

My Bloody Valentine – Blown a Wish Lyrics | 13 years ago |
my second acid trip, i doubled my dosage and wasn't prepared for it. i was set into a terrifying adventure where i crawled into a bed and kept trying to sleep it off. i tried to listen to music, nothing worked. before i threw my ipod in frustration my eyes read "My Bloody Valentine" and like a flash black to my sober self, i remembered how perfect they were. i put on the album thinking nothing would cure this horrible feeling, but the one-two-three-four snare snapped me into a blissful feeling of eternal flowing life that will never ever leave. this song in particular made me feel...divine. the magical thing about lsd, that separates it from other drugs, is that even after 6 months of this trip taking place it still induces those feelings. My Bloody Valentine is perfect. no other band is like them or will be like them. sorry this is so long and meaningless. |
Grouper – Invisible Lyrics | 13 years ago |
jesus christ. arrestingly beautiful. |
The Smashing Pumpkins – Galapogos Lyrics | 13 years ago |
oh my god. you got this perfect. everyone else sees this as a breakup song, and that didn't fit with me at all. you got it. i can relate to this song way more now. thank you. <3 |
Bark Psychosis – I Know Lyrics | 13 years ago |
oh my god, perfect love song from a perfect band. |
The Knife – Forest Families Lyrics | 13 years ago |
this is a very incorrect interpretation but i feel this song is about liesel from the novel The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. a story about a family in a small german town in the beginning of WW2 and ends...well at the end of WW2. anyway, Liesel is given away by her own mother to a quiet german couple. the father is an accordion player who gets drafted into the war. the significance of this in the song is that he would play for Liesel when she had trouble sleeping during the night due to nightmares, and when he was gone, her nightmares would reign. also, it should be noted, the reason that Liesel was given away by her own mother was because her mother was a suspected communist. the story never really tells what happened to her, but you can connect the dots with what kind of attitude Hitler had. they also held a Jew in their basement, and had to make room for him "We had to make this room". this is a very vague interpretation and i'm not claiming that i am by any means correct. what i am saying, though, is that this is a powerful song (emphasis on powerful), and reminds me of a wonderful book. a book all of you should consider reading. |
Nick Drake – Fly Lyrics | 13 years ago |

Bark Psychosis – The Loom Lyrics | 13 years ago |
To me I feel like this whole album conveys the feeling of leaving a sentimental area, like a childhood town, or school, and then returning grown up and everybody you grew up with is still there, but they've grown too. And it's just catching up with them in that magical movie kind of way....idk, i'm weird. |
Surfer Blood – Take it Easy Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This song is my fucking jam. |
Eluvium – New Animals From The Air Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The beginning melody gives me the sensation that i'm slowly floating upward and my lover is with me, too floating. And as the song journeys on we're just...floating, happily lost in our introspective thoughts, despite the melancholy undertones. Songs like this are impossible to find. |
Jónsi – Go Do Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I hate most obviously happy songs. But holy shit he does it perfect. These lyrics are so amazing! Ahhhh! Perfection! |
My Bloody Valentine – What You Want Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Also, Could I fall into __ _ talk __ __ = Could I fall into the one that calls me mine. |
My Bloody Valentine – What You Want Lyrics | 14 years ago |
THIS IS THE GREATEST FUCKING SONG EVER MADE EVER. I NEVER USE CAPS. EVER. BUT GOD DAMNIT, EVERY TIME I HEAR THIS I GET A FLOOD OF UNEXPLAINABLE EMOTIONS I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW I HAD. HOW THE HELL DID KEVIN SHIELDS DO THIS? THE FUCK? |
The XX – Fantasy Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Pretty much the only song at the moment to convey everything I am feeling. |
The XX – VCR Lyrics | 14 years ago |
To me, this is just simply about liking someone you think you'd be perfect with, friend, girlfriend, whatever, just in the end they don't feel the same at all. Basically something everyone in here can relate too. |
The Protomen – Beards Going Nowhere Lyrics | 14 years ago |
FUCKING EPIC. |
Bibio – The Palm Of Your Wave Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The lyrics just crumble me to bits. I'm really full of melancholy now. |
Mew – Comforting Sounds Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Really...? Really? Drugs? Come on. In a nutshell: It's about being kept in the dark from someone you love. They just use you as a fall back, and you can never really see their real intentions (feels as if I'm sensing you through a lens). The narrator talks about "putting on shows" in the sense that he's trying to get pity, etc, but the antagonist is always able to call him/her out on it. The instrumental part of the song is narrator moving on. |
Kevin Drew – Frightening Lives Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Correct lyrics (FROM THE BOOKLET): Wasn't disasters in a better find, the won't betray within a lonely dial wasn't the sex, wasn't the wise, metaphorical upward slide where the dizzy believe that the good was right, the mandate to stop 400 fights, with the pick me up and the throttled lies broke through the lines and tried to cry wasn't the plastic in the house that quit the truth that made everybody sick, with the woman mistakes and the heart of gold, everything is a little bit sold, wasn't the disciplined kid that melts, the white that told you what you felt, but you know I can't live inside this war without our bed Everybody's waiting for the return kid put in your head, put it in your head sectioned out wills with state line lips put in your head, put it in your head wasn't the tv with the lip cracked skin, double ties inside the win, wasn't the leak in every man of law, the idea that it's the death at fault now they can take you out and try to make a little life put it in your head, put it in your head see the shotguns that look like time put it in your head, put it in your head wasn't the modern in the world of puke, the I could kill you if I looked like you if you never believe you'll never be found the idea that our lives are round Wasn't the nature within the call, the DJ that still seems too small, with the battle of cum and the battle of skin, the miles of love that won't ever win like spoken sex and all our fear, everyone does what the feel, but you know I can't live inside this war without our bed Frightening lives for you and me, frightening lives we'll burn the sea, frightening lives all will leave, frightening lives our deaths will sing. |
Eluvium – Requiem On Frankfort Ave. Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Oh, my, God. |
Panda Bear – Untitled 05 Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Everyone has that one cliche stupid song that makes them cry. But this one, it really makes me choke up. That's the closest I've ever come to crying from a song. |
Panda Bear – Untitled 04 Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The most emotional song ever created. Yeah. I'm not changing my mind about that. |
The Notwist – Shrink Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Easily one of the best songs ever. |
Kevin Drew – Frightening Lives Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Perfect. |
Immaculate Machine – Blinding Light Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I disagree. It's beautiful, but, when I listen to it, it puts me in a really melancholy/nostalgic mood and I can't seem to get out of it for a few hours. It's kind of sickening, but I still love this song and I don't think I'll ever stop. |
Thrice – Silver Wings Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song IS ABOUT GOD. It's about how he just gave us a simple thing like air, and he is never praised as much as he is cursed for it. All we do is complain about our air, but yet we still breath. Now, I am atheist, I personally find this song pretty damn powerful. |
Good Charlotte – I Don't Wanna Be In Love (Dance Floor Anthem) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I hate this song. Good Charlotte is crap, they used to be good, but now they went down the drain, I really lost all hope in them. |
The Mars Volta – Wax Simulacra Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I... love it. So much. This is their best single since... since. I'm excited. |
Explosions in the Sky – The Only Moment We Were Alone Lyrics | 16 years ago |
nvsf pretty much said all that needed to be said. |
Explosions in the Sky – First Breath After Coma Lyrics | 16 years ago |
When I hear this song, I think about waking up from dying. Like, how you carry on in the after life, this song just for some reason makes me think of endless dunes in a desert tinted blue like the movie Hildago.... And for some reason this thought sticks with me and makes me feel sane about death, weird eh? |
The Slip – Airplane Primitive Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Promano, I think he means primitive in the sense that live is, and the airplane is the only way to escape that. But, I don't know, I didn't write it. |
The Slip – Airplane Primitive Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is by far my favorite song off of the album. Incurad, you have right thar buddy. :0 |
