My dad died when I was fourteen after a long illness. He was worried about leaving us and how we'd cope. I heard this song for the very first time the morning he died. Needless to say it means a lot and still brings a tear when i hear it even after all these years. |

I wouldn't normally bother my backside to comment on anything like this but this song is the most fabulous song of all time. I am shocked at the number of people who know and love it. I do not know a single person ('sides one v. cool friend) who knows this song and it's lovely to hear other peoples comments on it. TO the point, I believe this song is about possibly taking someone for granted whilst they were together and now they are sad because they realise what they've lost now they've gone. The realisation of emotions when it's too late. The "don't let the days go by" a reference to waiting for the other person to take them back - waiting hopefully and expectantly for a change of heart that never comes. |
