Sigur Rós – Ný Batterí Lyrics

Good interpretation Kayslinkx!
For me it's about human's ability to hurt and destroy... The world is hostile, impersonal and cruel; and sometimes, in order to survive, we must do unforgivable things. We act like unrational animals so we can survive and be part of the world we live. We become slaves, victims of the world and sometimes you can't fight back. Then you get the strenght to fight back until you get tired and cycle begins again... One day you find out what you become, and you rather isolate yourself so you cannot hurt or be hurt... The song can also relate to the people who hurt others without knowing what they are doing until the damage is done. I really love the metaphor they used. Maybe it's about somebody he hurt..
The song can have many interpretations. I really love it and it transport me into another dimenssion. |

The Atomica Project – One Day in New York City Lyrics

I spent the holidays in NYC and that song was the soundtrack of my trip... I needed to disconnect from everything and everyone, restart myself from all the things that happened in 2011... In that crowded city I was alone but I found myself again. |

Blackmore's Night – Diamonds And Rust Lyrics

kyoxme4ever you'r not far away from the meaning.. The ex called her and it's talking about the relationship they had and she's remembering... It seems like he was kinda troubled and despite that she loved him a lot... They had good and bad times.. In the end of the song he's kinda offering starting 'hangin' out' again, but she got over him and is not interesting in more "diamonds and rust". |

Now that I watched the video, she has a vampire bite in her neck... Maybe the boy was sucking her life and that's why she escaped. |

Emiliana Torrini – To Be Free Lyrics

It's about a girl who met a boy and fell in love with him at first sight... This boy was full of issues so she tried to help him and "stayed day and night with him", trying to save him (in the name of love??) ... He became her world, her everything.. However, she knew she had to stop it because he was hurting her with all his ups and downs, she had two decisitons: stay and go down with him or leave him... so she decided the second option... Despite that, she still loves him; she feels incomplete, she doesn't know what to do but also recognizes she must stay alone and let time heal all the wounds the boy left in her. Everytime she meets a new guy, maybe trying to forget him and move on, she remembers him, and the agony, the anguish is back.. |

Epica – The Phantom Agony Lyrics
|
To me this song is about human existence. Nowadays, people show a façade of who really is and live life as if it were something virtual in all the turmoil that accompanied the day to day ... We seem to be computers that overthink and overanalize the information we manage, looking for the logic of everything and putting aside the instinctive part of human being ... the essence of being human ... So, little by little, life has lost meaning and the people are far away from its self-realization.
About the part of the phantom agony, I believe it refers to our ancesters, who are squirming in their graves when they see how we are driving our lives. |

Royskopp – What Else Is There? Lyrics

It's about our humanity and searching for answers about the meaning of life. The song and the video show a lots of symbolic representations of the original sin. And I'm totally agree with romerojcb about being "the storm, the wonder, the flashlights, nightmares and sudden explotions", that's an excellent description of a human being. |

Audioslave – Getaway Car Lyrics

First of all, it's about an engaged girl ("With ring in hand you take it out on me") who has a big problem that is mentally disturbing her (problems w/her fiancé or behavioral issues)... The car can represents a peaceful mental state OR some kind of drug that can "ease" the pain for a while. The guy can be an ex-boyfriend or just a friend who's in love w/the girl or consumes the drug... maybe she's a has a boderline personality disorder, those ppl manipulate and tend to absorb the other and drive them nuts :P~

He's persuading this girl full of taboos and complex, so he's trying to make her leave those feelings by forgetting what TV shows (those hot and sexy girls...) and being her true self, 'cause that will turn him on... |

The Smashing Pumpkins – Believe Lyrics

I think this song is about a relationship, perhaps they broke up and he's telling her that no matter what happen he'll love her and maybe she's telling him something he doesn't believe, but he wants to... Besides, it seems like he has a black past that he regrets of and he tells her that he's going to amends all the mistakes and wishes her good luck: "May God speed be with you"...
It's a beautiful and powerfull song! I love it!! Smashing Pumpkins rocks!!! |

Lacuna Coil – Comalies (English Version) Lyrics

I'm partially agreed with nightsofglass. The song is about a symbiotic relationship where one of them (the guy I guess) is not longer in love of the girl and she feels kinda responsible of that ("as long as I live remembering you like this will be an eternal blame on me"), maybe she did something bad or wrong and things started to change and she asks why... She’s trying to get into him, doing everything possible and that makes her feel good, ‘because she feels like things can work out once again… But then she stumbles and the beg him to trust her and the relationship but that’s not what he wants, that makes him feel unhappy… Maybe he’s trying to break away, as nightsofglass said, but somehow he feels co-dependent or pushed not to cause any extra pain to her, ‘cause she still in love of him and is extremely co-dependent…
I dunno, it's a complicated relationship... That’s my humble opion… |
