I think it's about this kid and the narrator is talking about a boy who wants to leave and discover himself but is hesitant to do so. The narrator wants him to discover himself before it's too late. Like this: Boy: Or should I just get along with myself? I never did get along with everybody else. I've been trying to do what's right. But you know I could stay here all night and watch the clouds fall from the sky... Narrator: Because this river is wild, God speed you boy, this river is wild. And so on, like that. The shake a little part is good.. but I don't know what it means. Maybe the boy is nervous about leaving. This is just what I get from it... I'm probably wrong. |

I think this song is about how two small town friends were only friends, and the girl decides to go "find herself" by going places she thinks are bigger and better, and while she'e gone, the guy discovers that he's in love with her, and he is scared that when she comes back and he tells her that he loves her that she will think he's too plain because he didn't leave the town and she did. This song could also be about death. All the references to the universe and Milky Way and space and planets and heaven could refer to where you go when you die, but then why would he talk about her coming back?? And in the lyrics, I think it's "fall FROM a shooting star" not "FOR a shooting star." I LOVE THIS SONG soooooo much it's so good!!! |

I think that this is about the girl being self-abusive. Doing drugs, drinking, crying, bipolar, or something. He loves her, but she's changed so much ("I just could not believe she was the same girl I fell in love with long ago") he doesn't know whether he should stay with her or let her go. So sad! :'( I don't think it's about how he loved her and she didn't love him back. It just doesn't sound like that. The lyrics would be different because he said he "woke up alone" and "found her note by the phone" so that implies the idea that they WERE actually together. Great song, one of my favorites. |

Don't really know what exactly what this one is about.... but these guys have some songs other than Into the Ocean and Hate Me, both of which are depressing, this one has the tune of a depressing song, but the lyrics are just way to good to make it depressing. Calling You by Blue October is really good too. |

I think they guy wishes he hadn't commited himself to the girl, and after she left him he still loved her, so he became depressed and as a result, suicidal. He wishes he could stop, but he just can't. And as he was sinking, he thought of the girl "well I thought of just your face, relaxed and floating into space" and he realized that there was so much more than her in life, and he decided that he wanted to live. "I calculate what I had done." he regrets his decison and therefore he lives. love this song! |
