I'm disharmonic key in a wicked symphony ... it's possible that my Baudelaire obsession gone too far but I'm pretty sure that these to lines are connected to one of his poems "Ne suis-je pas un faux accord
Dans la divine symphonie" means almost the same only the symphony in the poem is "divine" and this one here is wicked ... apoptygma's lyrics are full of symbols and hidden word games so that could be true |

hmm that age-references make me wonder "I'm not the pleasure that I used to be So young - just eighteen" and "a little girl, a little guy" .... well its sounds as a memory about the childhood "it's just this world's so far away" which purifies and makes that imaginary 18-year-old good "well , at least for today" :)

it's so fuckin obvious ,it's even on the picture on tbm's site (lyrics' section) two guys kissing each other and some spooky gentleman's silhouette on the background ...guess who gets killed :) ...to make it even more romantic I would suggest that that could be the lovers' last secret date before they run away together as planned?.... amm and no,dear jesterbunny, the kids didn't hear adults having sex in the park they tell each other this story as some sort of urban legend

mmm ... that thing with the kiddie porn was pretty extravagant interpretation ,funny though :))
there is an anime called "video girl" it's an old one but somehow this song reminds me of it .It was about a girl who came out of the video and had to make some guy fall in love in her in 30 days... the girl was total freak , the boy was shy ... " broke the sissy boy teeny toy hear in two" ...dunno
I have one more theory ... tbm's lyrics are oftentimes very ironic but still childish innocent ...so that could be self-irony , they are the videokids ,traumatised and abused by the medias ,pop art or whatsoever ...that fits perfect to Rainbow's violet-bruise make-up :) |

oh My Dear God ...how come nobody had commented this wonderfull lyrics ...abney park are a band with great conception and truly unique vison of art ...this song is full of metaphores of today's society ...the idea of this change cage "where we throw the rebels in" -the eternal artist's drama,cause the the artist is always a rebel .it's a picture of our crappy world full of "walls" between the different kinds of people ,and of course only a few can see trough them and really see the people .... the change cage is one of those lovely steampunk metaphores ... big rusty metal steam machine which changes the different ones and makes them same ... "and I will hold the key until the day they say the cage will fall " ... it means until the day when you all realize that we are all the same actually and we don't need blocks and walls... peace & love :D |

well I heard this song 2 days ago and it totaly drove me into a nervous breakdown ... I did'n read all the posts but I wanted to say that from the point of view of child grown up without even knowing its father this song is perfectly clear ... call me crazy but it isn't all about anger and hate ...those last "see jack run " ...she sounds helpless ,she can't get rid of the memory for this man who caused her so much pain but
in her voice i feel one little girl ,crying for her daddy ,the one who never had just like when the kids shout "no" when they really mean "yes" but its so damn hard
