A lot of this song is from Neil Young's song "My My, Hey Hey". Cloud cult uses two lines from his song. the title and the infamous quote. Kurt Cobain's suicide note, he ended with "better to burn out than fade away" whether this has any thing to do with happy hippo or not. I wanted to put it out there. BTW my favorite line in this song is: I'm always wonderin' why shes wonderin' why I'm wonderin' why, I don't know why Its a jumble of similar words but when pulled apart it makes perfect sense. I think that the Ghost in the house is his son, kaiden. He doesn't want the memory of Kaiden to leave "Oh Love, don't leave me by myself Or I'm bound to lose my meaning" it could also be his wife- but my favorite part is "I'm going to find the creator An old man in the clouds or a happy little alien Whoever it is I need to thank her And even though I don't know God I'm happy with the mystery" I completely believe it. He captures the confusion in my own faith, and i connect deeply to those words. Knowing there must be something greater out there. |

This is a beautiful song. "an old phograph of you in daddy's arms" about his son Kaiden, perhaps. "You'll be the leper You'll be the healer You'll be the hero And the tragedy" when you die you go back to everything. You go back to where you came. You belong to everything. Its comforting to know that his son is everywhere. The way he conveys his feelings, AHH! I love it. |

To me this song is cool because sage could mean just the plant sage growing in the weeds or, the alternative definition for sage is "having wisdom that comes with age" there is wisdom amoung the weeds. I like the concept, whether it was on purpose or not is another story. |

Something I love about this band is the obscurity of the topics, so many other artists sing about love and loss and anger...but these guys tell a story to get the message across. I always wait for an explanation at the end of the song...but they follow it all the way through with an illistration. Love it, their creativity. |

Just the words are beautiful? In the first line: There must be purpose here cause most of us keep waking up why do we keep going, getting up every morning to the predictable? There has got to be something about living, a greater purpose than just tuning oxygen into carbon dioxide. I love the lines after the first stanza, about forgivness....there has to be a God. I love how he is trying to figure out life just by looking at his surroundings and the people he sees. Its a perfect song. I love it. |

song of the deaf girl, thanks for that. its just as eerie as te song. I love this song because of the soothing voice, even though the story is tragic my favorite line is " with a keychain wedding ring" with love you don't need anything fancy, a wedding ring is mearly a symbol of your heart belonging to someone else and i love that they used something common to show how much they love each other. Great lyrics i love everything about them. |
