I love this song because it always reminds me of my sister. She had a long wild streak where she did horrible things to my family and to me. When we all made it to the end of it I loved her for it. I loved her because she had gone and done awful things but still loved me. So the lines "And I don't think that I ever loved you more

To me this song isn't just about a romantic relationship, but rather all relationships. To me it's more about not feeling like you're worthy of love and not being able to admit it and running away from the people who try and love you. The line "are you aware the shape I'm in?" really hits it home for me. It's like do you see how broken I am? How can you still love me?
Thats what it means to me. And I absolutely love this song. It's the soundtrack to my fall. |

To me this song is very Emerson like. Very are you being true to yourself? Are you being who you believe you should be? I am American, but I love this song. Too many people give into what others say they should be. Too many people are becoming generic versions of other people. I love this band and I just heard them for the first time. I love that you can hear his accent in songs. So many times now people just cover up their accent. He accepts it....guess it makes sense with this song huh? |

personally I take it as a reminder to the world of what our past is. I'm a christian, but in no respects do I dismiss Judisim. I know that my religion is based off of judisim and all those pictures where Christ is depicted as white with blue eyes makes me laugh. He was a jew, he looked like a jew. Simple as that. Personally what I get from Max's statment is that yes we're all different, but we all came from somewhere. We need to remember our roots even if we do 'chase our milk with ham' |

I do agree with how it can be about money and greed and power, but I also think it could be applied to selling out. You think that these people that like you now, because you are 'hip', will abandon you, you may try and convince yourself that everything will be okay and that they are your real friends, but they can find that door in the morning. Thats how i see it. |
