LOVE THIS SONG!! especially the lines "And all her friends tell her she's so pretty/But she'd be a whole lot prettier if she smiled once in a while/ `Cause even her smile looks like a frown" i interpreted it as a girl who grew up with parents who knew all the stars, and proabaly didn't give her a lot of attention as they were living the "hollywood" life. later on in life she can't let go of her childhood, empty of attention and happiness, seeing the "devils" people can become when she was so young, and it makes her upset. the singer sees her sadness, and tries to console her with a beautiful song and telling her how he's unsure about this place too. maybe he can relate, who knows? |

| i may be completely off, but i thought this song could be about someone with an eating disorder. she "came with a sickness" of wanting to be perfect, and might be taking pills to keep it off. her boyfriend, or friend singing this song, knows she has a problem and wants to help her, but can't. he want to take her away from all these troubles, but she's too sick. he knows she's not getting better and keeps losing more weight, so at the end he can't deal with her and leaves, ( 'anywhere with you' to 'anywhere but you'). very sad, but amazing song. | |

i love this song, heard it one time and downloaded 8 other augustana songs... to me, this song is basically about a guy and his ex girlfriend. he still loves her, but he caused her too much pain (Eyes are red and tears are shed ... You don’t know me You don’t even care) so she broke up with him. he wants her to take him back, and she's tired of all th past memories, and wants to leave. she's probably sick of everyone who knew her and him as a couple, and "don't know her" as one person. she's tired of everything being the same - weather, sunset, noone knowing her - and just wants to start fresh with the past far behind her. |
