Van Morrison – Someone Like You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
PS: It's something I'd like to say to somebody, one of these days. |
Van Morrison – Someone Like You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Sounds like he's relieved: he's found her, now he can spend the rest of his life with her... It's so peaceful, it's like he's reached the goal he's been aiming at his whole life. It's beautiful because it's simple. |
Shivaree – Goodnight Moon Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love when she whispers! It adds a mysterious kick to the song. |
The Radio Dept. – Your Father Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The first song I loved by The Radio Dept. This song is about youth, bittersweet memories, looking back on your first love... The guy actually sounds like a loser: he can't get past that golden age with the girl he used to love, and she has moved on but he hasn't: I'm drinking every day but try to behave the same way I did before I don't really get the whole father thing, though... What happened with him? Oh, and I think the lyrics about jerking off aren't really appropriate in this kind of song, but I guess it only emphasizes the fact that the guy is, after all, a failure. |
The Radio Dept. – Why Won't You Talk About It Lyrics | 17 years ago |
These lyrics don't mean anything if you haven't heard the song first. When I listen to this song, all I can see is a great big fall, a sort of surrender... As if he was metaphorically (but the music makes it sound very real) falling down in the air, giving up on trying to understand that girl, who obviously won't tell him anything. |
The Radio Dept. – I Don't Need Love, I've Got My Band Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Who gives a damn when we've got music?! love this song! |
The Kooks – I Want You Back Lyrics | 17 years ago |
How did you do it females? It's always you do it angels You always keep me on the run This part just makes me want to scream out loud... Love it so much, I have no idea why, it's kind of sexist... But you can feel his pain, in this part especially. All of the Kooks songs are so sincere, that's the main reason why i love them. |
Paula Cole – I Don't Want To Wait Lyrics | 17 years ago |
althoug the music is really annoying, i think, i can relate to the lyrics... that's exactly how you feel when you're a teen, you want to know everything about your future life, what life has to offer you (even thought that's far from being the best thing)... you just can't wait to really live your life. |
The Radio Dept. – The Worst Taste In Music Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I don't get these lines: There will be others to frown upon If it turns you on Can anyone help? |
The Cure – Pictures of You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think the first words say it all: I've been looking so long at these pictures of you That I almost believe that they're real I've been living so long with my pictures of you That I almost believe that the pictures are All I can feel Sometimes, you look so many times at the pictures of somebody without actually having them around, that the pictures BECOME him, in a way, because they're the closest thing to being with him... they're a substitute. My favorite Cure song, with Just like Heaven. |
Eminem – Hailie's Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is the song that made me reconsider my opinion about Eminem, and like some of his other songs. I actually like the double personality he seems to have, bad-ass/ adorable father... |
The Kooks – Ooh La Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love this song, but I don't get the "petticoat" thing. |
The Radio Dept. – Tell Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Genius. The Radio Dept. lyrics are always so sincere and beautiful. |
The Radio Dept. – Pet Grief Lyrics | 17 years ago |
What can I say? What can I do? Don't mean to analyze you Best lines ever. They come at the right moment, just as if the song would have been weaker without them... I love how Radio Dept. songs are always sort of "hazy", blurry. "Pet Grief" is the best song on the album (n°2 for me is "The Worst Taste in Music") |
The Radio Dept. – 1995 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
And though I'm happier now I always long somehow Back to 1995 I so can relate to these lines. Somehow, you always long for the past (or at least some moments of it) even though you like your present life better. |
The Radio Dept. – You And Me Then? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
These lyrics are so amazingly simple, and yet it works so well with the music... Whenever I listen to it, I start to picture this music video with two people holding on to each other, one of them whispering "I was afraid I wouldn't find you", filmed in a Sofia Coppola sort of way (over exposed lighting, camera turning around the characters)... The same words are repeated 4 times, as if he couldn't say anything else because he's so overwhelmed with emotion. |
