I agree with JacobJM totally. I first saw this song as a call for help, but then again it was already on my mind :P. But yeah, I'm easily manipulated, and usually won't do things I want to, but scared of the consequenses unless otherwise made to do, or pushed forward. For the sex angle half these comments are debating over, it certainly has an appeal, but because of the verses highlighting depression, it goes into a genre of the relationship as the only thing he/she has. in my preference, the chorus if taken to be sex-based, would be in a submissive point of view. They just want to be taken, pushed and pulled until they forget about everything else. Another could be that there is a relationship there, and he/she knows that he should leave, to do better things. Their "fading" and have given up on their dreams, but they have nowhere else to go, so they stay. The chorus can then relate to alternatives one or two as an escape. Then there's the theme of overall depression. This gives the song a lot more impact to a lot of people, and although I've never heard the term "take me all the way" as a plea for death, generally depression is a self-centred act, not usually asking someone to kill them. Could be insanity also. It's a great song no matter how you look at it, the first time I listened to the chorus I was fighting tears, because I was previously having a conversation about rape. God I love this song. It's exactly my mindset right now. It sucks to have your heart broken, and you swear you'll never try again, but it comes back, and you just love it. Just thinking about them brings a smile to my face most nights before I sleep. But you have to see the reality that it'll probably end, and there's no way to do that without hurting again. Nothing lasts forever, but you can give up and enjoy the ride, and trust the person you fell for. I absolutely love the lyrics and melody, although if it didn't speed up at the end it would keep the atmosphere, it sort of prevents it from leaving you in a sad-ish mood after it ends, and emphasizes that she changed her mind and is excited about it. Anywho, I love it. It seems I'm not alone either :) xxAl |

I agree with pretty much everyone, how he's with a girl and she lied to him a lot "And here's all your lies You can look me in the eyes With the sad, sad look That you wear so well" and so she leaves him. Then because of what she did to him we hopes he's making her miserable for what she's done seeing him now. etc. In the video on the other hand, the impression I get is the two halves of him (present and nerdy past), and they are pretty different to each other (obviously). But in the end the girl he is currently with/ recently with, would have preferred the guy he used to be before he changed, and he still misses the girl he used to be with, but still wishes her 'hell' 'cause she made him miserable. My opinion anyways.. still sketchy on the "current girl" involvement in the vid. xxAl |

It's a great song, I was wandering about the part - "They taped over your mouth Scribbled out the truth with their lies You little spies" I think of it this way: His 'friends' or random gossips caught wind that she had a crush on him, probably like 'ohmygodthatfreaklikesyou/isobsessedwithyou' (or somthing along those lines), therefore the spies, stopped him from objecting (I mean, like he would tell everyone he liked a 'freak'.) and altered the reality of her liking him. This is purely on a take I gethered because it reminds me of quite a few people at school. Awesome song, and in the vid her hair is awesome! Hope I helps (someone) |

Wouldn't it be 'she was pretty in braces" not places? It seems to make more sense. I think the song's about a guy dating a girl and they fight a lot, (thus the breaking bones, noses and bruises) but she is into thrills and follows the guy (presumably in a band) and gets him drugs so he hopefully takes her to London. Correct me if I'm wrong. Awesome song! |

I think that the song is summed up by almost everyone, how he broke it with a girl because he was maybe too young and confused. But now they both moved on and he realised that he couldn't stand it without her. I think the pregnancy thing is completely wrong though. I don't think that anything reffers to a biby, but the light represents her. I can't really put my finger on what it represents about her, like when there is an angel and they just glow, or a person smiles so warmly that they start glowing. That was one of my theories, but he could have just done all of the above and she had passed away before he could tell her how he felt. The song could be representing his feelings about the times he had with and without her, and his guilty conscience about sheating on her/ letting her go. Just to finish off, i think that this song is even more special to me because I have just recently got a boyfriend, and it encourages me to just keep pushing through the new territories, and be grateful for what I have. *joyful cries* |
