love this. believe it's about man's sinfulness and failure to ever get anything right. yet, God loves/forgives us anyway. it's him coming to grips with the fact that all he can do is recognize his sin, and how he'll keep on failing. it's him saying, i'm sick of all this other stuff that doesn't mean anything and want to be pulled in the direction of what the Lord wants for him. |

I love love love this song. I usually like how U2 isn't really upfront about their spirituality, so it reaches everyone, and everyone takes it to mean what they want. But this song is so incredibly about Jesus. Just subsitute his name in for everytime he says love, with the first verse being about Jesus' resurrection**"the stone it has been moved, the GRAVE (not grain) is now a GROOVE (not grove). All debts are removed." anway, i think it's EXCELLENT. |
