there has been some confusion with the lyrics.. can i just clarrify i have the album with the words included in ther sleeve, and in the last verse it is correct "laying dragons teeth and shallow water steel, at the belgian gates im waiting for my meal" So stop questionisng the lyrics up on the site becasue they are CORRECT! lol :P awesome song! awesome band ! im glad people are starting to get it. |

i read an article not long ago in a music mag about tools 10,000 days tour and it had interveiw with manyard. he was saying that although his songs do have rather 'deep' meanings sometimes, his fans take it way to far and most of the time he didnt even realise the song could translate to some of the fuking meanings they come up with. call me crazy but that just came into my head when i reead all of this hah. i know its a song meaning web site and i love all the analysis on here, its awsome, but i hope you all dont get too into some of the shit ppl are saying, or you are just as bad as the type of arrogent upo themselves sself ricous assholes manyard is always mocking., on another note i love this song and the jungian and melchizadek refrences are extreemly intresting, but i think melchizadek is fuking racist and needs to evolve a bit itself if it recons aboriginals arn't as evolved as the rest of us, there philosophys may be simpler as a whole but they are just as wholesome indiviually as us, even more so because they are in tune with the earth and the spirits, even though i dont beleiv in much of that crap its respect to them ! tool are awsome! this sng is great. peace out |

okay, this song is absolutely brillliant. i am wondering though..and you could all be very helpful, i dont know alot about tools backround and manyards life etc, so find it hard to draw to some conclutions. what is manyards veiw on his personal religion? i know his mother was very faithful and the song sounds to be about her and her struggles and manyards conclution that she damn well better get into heaven, but within this is he questioning his belief? i was under the impression than tool was anti- religion, but this song seems to draw undertones that maybe his mother has not only been a light in his life but that as he needs to beleive that she is going to heaven for his peace of mind, he has found himself on some level believing in the concept of heaven and hell. the song reeks of sadness and confusion, but still is moving and campassionate, and seems to be more 'love' than ' hate' in the confusion of it all. Set as I am in my ways and my arrogance, burden of proof tossed upon non-believers. You were my witness, my eyes, my evidence...
