Panic! at the Disco – The Ballad of Mona Lisa Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I agree, great song to start the buzz for Vices and Virtues. I can't wait for that album! And on to the lyrics: I think its about a prostitute? From what I get, without much analysis, its about this guy who pays for an escort but, idk, maybe he pays her to have her company more than her body. And she tells him its ok "there's nothing wrong with just a taste of what you´ve paid for" But maybe he likes her a bit more, or is more intrigued about her personality ("I'd pay to se you frown"), and she doesn't let him through because its not part of her job, so she keeps things for herself (even things she might want to say) or she'd lose a client. ("But she'd have nothing left to sell him") I think that's it I love this song! I can't wait to see what they've done with the video. I hope they release it soon. |

What the FUCK is this song? lol |
Panic! at the Disco – New Perspective Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Well, there´s been no news on replacements so far; and the lyrics are completely Brendon and Spencers. I have to say, even when I love Ryans lyrics, Brendon can write really great lyrics too. Panic! will deffinitely not dissapoint us :) |
Panic! at the Disco – New Perspective Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I'm going to wait for the song to come out before I start splitting this song to bits and analizing every litle thing because I think hearing the melody is huge when trying to find the meaning of a song. But, just by reading the lyrics this song seems to be about the split, specially the first two sentences: "I feel the salty waves come in I feel them crash against my skin" that just seems so heart-broken in general. |
The Hush Sound – Unsafe Safe Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Okay call me crazy but I think this song is narrated from the POV of a clock/lock inside 'Albrite´s' heart. Facitiously fiction when Albrite was bitten While kissing the girl of his dreams on the lips When I was watching when I was clocking ^that makes me think 'he' is Albrite's heart Seconds to minutes their lips locked like digits On safes unsafe mainly due to ticking contents When I was watching timer tick tocking Albrite is finally with the girl of his dreams but his heart refuses to let her in, and his heart is locked with a clock-lock and is giving him a warning of how it won't be disarmed. |

Forgive Durden – The Spider and the Lamps (feat. Max Bemis) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I didn't knew about the spidersong reference. Up until now that line "I'm a spider, crawl inside her" just bugged me 'cause it didn't seemed to fit. |
Forgive Durden – The Exit (feat. Brendon Urie & Dan Young) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Great Song! So... Sangara is supposed to be like, Pallis and Adakias father? or just some sort of Town's Spokesman?? |
Forgive Durden – Genesis (feat. Casey Crescenzo) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Question: In which lines is the Scientist singing and in which lines the narrator?.... Or who are the two characters that sing on this song? :/ If anyone can help mi with that I would truly appreciate it! ^^ |
Panic! at the Disco – It's Almost Halloween Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Panic! at the Disco – Nearly Witches (Ever Since We Met...) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Well, they released it under the name of "The Paul Reveere Juimpsuit Apparatus" so I don't really think it's going to be on their next album, but was on the album they discarded, the cabin album... And as far as the meaning goes, I'll say is part of the story they were creating for the second album, it was a love story of sorts, or as they said "A fairy-tale for adults" The first verse sounds like an introduction from the narrators "Composing a burlesque, out of where they rest they necks" A burlesque is a theatrical story, commonly a parody. So he is making this story out of other peoples hearts (out of where they rest their necks, necks "rest" in the chest, related to feelings and hearts) Still working on the rest... |
Panic! at the Disco – That Green Gentleman (Things Have Changed) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
@ AllyS2 he sings something like: Oh… Well, things have changed for me Come on everybody let's dance and sing I'm singin' it all night long Come on everybody and enjoy the fun…! And Say… Well things have changed for me Come on everybody let's dance and sing I'm singin' it all night long Come on everybody and sing along… |

Panic! at the Disco – The Piano Knows Something I Don't Know Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Actually, the "I wont cut my beard and I wont change my hair" lyric was written by Spencer. Lol. so I think that pretty much solves the mysterious meaning |
Panic! at the Disco – From A Mountain In The Middle Of The Cabins Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I just love the feeling on this song, even when Its not a happy son at all (lyric-wise)... I think I heard in an interview somewhere them say this is like an "Anti-love song" and its pretty obvious why. Also, the album they were making in the cabins, they said it was going to be basically a story about two lovers. It gives me the feeling that this might be the one song that survived from the scrapped album. Idk, it just seems like that |
Panic! at the Disco – I Have Friends In Holy Spaces Lyrics | 16 years ago |
fueledbyramenaddict: sorry, my mistake, I know the name is Brendon, I must have rushed in writing the comment. And two, I didnt knew the mic thing, thanks for that fun-fact. And I think you should take it easy, I dont know if is on purpose or not, but you sound so angry in your comments... chill out ;) |
Panic! at the Disco – We're So Starving Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Why are you taking this so serious? ... I heard an interview where they said this song was not to be taken seriously in ANY way possible, and it was just a very VERY lighthearted song, and it really is... like "Heartache To Sing" said, this is a nice little "love note", so stop saying that this brings down the hole album and stuff... Ok they have changed... a lot! but, thats what you would expect from Panic, the unexpected, isnt it? They came with a whole new concept of music on their first album, they are not going to repeat that. I really think I would have been dissapointed if they sounded exactly like Fever So please dont take it seriously and watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxzusnMCkJ8 |
Panic! at the Disco – The Piano Knows Something I Don't Know Lyrics | 16 years ago |
@ midnightinfernos: you are right about the frame story. I dont remember in which interview exaclty, they were talking about the songs and about this one they said they had two stories in one. So it should be interpreted like that. "She’s the smoke, she’s dancing fancy pirouettes. Swan diving off of the deep end of my tragic cigarette. She’s steam, laughing on the window panes. The never-ending swaying haze, oh that ever smiling maze oh that ever smiling maze, a ballet." When I first heard this verse, I imagined a girl dancing in some sort of old night club while a pianist (aka Brendon, my piano man :P ) was playing this song... but now I listen to it again and again and just imagine the cigarrete smoke lifting off the "end of his tragic cigarrete" fading away, making piruettes. But of course I dont think the guys in panic want to talk about smokes so literally, so now I think he really is talking about the inspiration itself. Inspiration being a "she" playing around him, smiling at him, vanishing when she feels like it, making him loose his ideas though "he's lost more to floods". The "curiousity of old crows", it think is about feeling that you were born in the wrong era, I'm not sure how to express that. And what the piano knows is how to express those ideas that "she", the inspiration, wont tell him. "I can’t prove this makes any sense, but I sure hope that it does." The first part, the "hairy" part... well, I haven't figured that one out yet... lol ps. Sorry if there are grammatical mistakes, english is not my first language. |
Panic! at the Disco – Mad As Rabbits Lyrics | 16 years ago |
@ deliiroar "you will never hear another band like panic EVER! and this is what i love about the new panic, you will either absolutely love them or absolutely hate them, never in between" Exactly! ... lets get back to the first album, to "London beckoned songs about money machines", they said it out loud "Make us it, make us hip, make us scene Or shrug us off your shoulders Don't approve a single word that we wrote"... so hate them, love them, its the same they are just making music that they love and not what everyone else is expecting... and right now they are happy about life, so let them sing it. Personally I can relate to the songs because, in the end, its true, this world needs a more positive message... Now, that said, let me ask something... WHO is Paul Cates?!?! ... its bothering me not to now XD ... maybe it is an anagram.. I´ll have to to check on that one :P ps. sorry if I have a few grammar errors, english is not my first language... |
Panic! at the Disco – I Have Friends In Holy Spaces Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Absolutely amazing! I cant help while hearing this song, imaging everything around me in black an white and an old phonograph playing this song. This is one of the two songs written by Brandon Urie (the other one is Folkin´ Around) and I believe he is really talented at this. Anyway, I think its about this man being extremely happy just remembering a "former love" and his old friends, just enjoying his life and expressing his excitement by just "dancing" even if the conditions are not the best. A really positive song, the raining maybe means that his life is not that great, he has his troubles, but still he smiles at it. "You remind me of a few of my famous friends Well, that all depends what you qualify as friends You remind me of a few of my famous friends Well, that all depends what you qualify as friends" In this part it seems like there are two different people, two "voices" speaking to each other, and the second one questions the first man "friends"... not the fact that they are famous. Repeating the fact that maybe the people he thinks are his friends aren't really his friends. But he's like "who cares, lets sing on the rain" love it! |
HIM – Bleed Well Lyrics | 16 years ago |
To me it reminds me a little of "Romeo & Juliet" and it wouldnt be the first time either that Ville portrays them in a song, he said so with close to the flame an gone with the sin, that it was in a way the story of them in two songs, but well, here it goes You had demons to kill within you screaming She loves someone she is not supposed to so he becomes in a way like an inner demon, or at least everybody else will see it that way With a gun loaded with guilt you opened their eyes I think she may have shot herself and when everyone else, say her parents, friends, etc... found out why they felt, lets say, a "shot of guilt" that opened their eyes and made them see they were wrong Love preys the living and praises the dead In the heart of our hearts by death we were wed now this is what reminds me of the play the most, they are hounted by love while living, its like a cruel joke and they are trapped in it, and the only way they see to be together as a real couple without hiding or whatever is in death, hence, "by death we were wed" Bleed well the soul you’re about to sell for passion deranged Kiss and tell, baby we’re bleeding well they are about to commit suicide, in order to be together so in a way its like a deal, selling their souls to te devil to be together... thinking of the religious punishment if you kill yourself you go to hell, but they are doing it and if they are going for it they are going to do it well hehe Bleed well the heart you’re about to fail for reasons insane Kill and tell, baby we’re bleeding well… …In hell They are going to fail their family, and loved ones in general by ending a life they expected to go in a complete different way “No love lost under her will”, I heard you weeping And on those words a church was built to keep the pain in considering is the guy narrating the story then the girl would be referring to the death as a "she" and as they are going to end their lifes there wouldnt be any future to define if their love was meant to last, so it wouldnt be lost, but forever. And those words are like the greatest truth for everyone who did something like that for love, its holy to them, worth creating a "church" or sanctuary for it to leave the pain of living inside and leave If death is the answer to love’s mysteries Then bleed on my darling to the sound of a dream And as I say, they believe that dying is the only way to be together and the only way to be in love forever without any more misteries that love may have, so they will continue bleeding in a dream like state thats what I think at least hehe and sorry if my english is not perfect, its not my first language |

Héroes del Silencio – Maldito Duende Lyrics | 16 years ago |
no sabia que era de su primer pase jeje pero tiene sentido |
Héroes del Silencio – La Chispa Adecuada Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Héroes del Silencio – Entre Dos Tierras Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Panic! at the Disco – Build God, Then We'll Talk Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Ok, I didnt readl all of the posts before me, but I did read a few so I wanted to share what comes to my mind everytime I listen to this song First, the girls is not a hooker, is a worker at the lawyers buffette or something, so she sleeps with the boss to get a promotion. Obviously she claims to be a virgin, but she's not, thats where the "rosary on the lyngerie" thing comes on The lawyer excused to his wife that he was going oun on a "strictly bussiness" meeting, and the girl is only doing this because she needs the promotion, the money. This being the central theme of the song is a "caricature of intimacy" given the fact that according to society a husband should never cheat his wife and with the "virgen until marriage" tabu and all Ok the next verse: Raindrops on roses and girls in white dresses It's sleeping with roaches and taking best guesses At the shade of the sheets and before all the stains And a few more of your least favorite things it makes me think of the ideal image of an inocent look that the girl gives to the world "raindrops on roses and girls in white dresses" white is a color often used to represent pure things But in reality this "pure girls" are sleeping in roaches and all that stuff Well, only hours before, after he had left She was fixing her face in a compact There was a terrible crash Between her and the badge She spilled her purse and her bag And held a "purse" of a different kind Along with the people inside For this verse, well I have just an interpretation as it were a story of some kind, so imagine this: the crash is real, but she dies, so the "purse" of a different kind she helds in just a metaphore that she is inside one of those forense bags for corpses, and with her death the investigation begins, so she drags with her the lawyer an everything because in the end the cheating lawyer is discovered, which also would be a perfect ending for the "caricature of intimacy" |
HIM – Jykevää On Rakkaus Lyrics | 17 years ago |
OMG I really need someone to tell me, is this a cover o what? Because Ive just heard it and just cant believe it, its the same melody of a song by a mexican guy called Luis Miguel that my mom used to hear when she was my age! its just the same, even the lyrics are not that different XD |
Alejandro Sanz – Cuando Nadie Me Ve Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Sometimes I elevate, I can spin a thousand times Sometimes I lock myself behind the closed doors Sometimes I tell you why all this silence Its just sometimes I'm yours And sometimes of the wind Sometimes from a string, sometimes from a hundred (strings) And sometimes my darling, I swear that I think Why is it so hard to feel how I feel? To feel, I'm sorry that it is so hard Sometimes I look at you, and sometimes you leave me I borrow your wings, you check on your prints Sometimes for everything even you never fail me Sometimes I'm yours and sometimes nobodys Sometimes I swear to you I'm sorry Not giving you my whole life, giving you only those moments Why is it so hard? to live is only that to live is only that, Why is it so hard? When nobody sees me I can be, or not be When nobody sees me I turn the world upside down When nobody sees me My skin does not limitates me When nobody sees me I can be or not be When nobody sees me I writo you from inside Of my own existence Where the anxious is born, the infinite escence There are some things so yours that I dont understand them And there are some things so mine its just that I cant see them I guess I just think I dont have them I dont understand my life, the verses turn on that on the dark I can, I'm sorry I dont get it right Dont turn on the light that I' have naked my soul and my body When nobody sees me I can be or not be when nobody sees me I'm just like your skin when nobody sees me I think of her too I can be, or not be When nobody sees me I can be, or not be When nobody sees me My skin does not limitates me Sometimes I elevate, I can spin a thousand times I lock you in my eyes behind the open doors Its just that sometimes I'm yours And sometimes I'm from the wind ++++++ thats the meaning... sort of, for those who are interested... and sorry if there is any misspelling XD english is not my first language Anyway beautiful song i |

The Rasmus – Sophia Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It MUST be a song about a dog, what is more, a song from the dogs point of view... maybe her sister sophia lost a dog and he made it to make her feel better or something jeje |
The Rasmus – Not Like The Other Girls Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Im almost sure its not about suicide, I rememeber reading somewhere an interview whith lauri and that he commented on this song that its specially for a friend of his that has so much troubles in her life that its almost like a grey cloud following her around. Its not about someone who commited suicide, its just about someone who is really sad and has suffering so much that she is loosing her "flame" her soul... sad but true |
The Rasmus – First Day Of My Life Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think is mostly about living the life intense, being around the ones you love as always and still having the ability to get surprised, like the first time you hanged out with your friends or the first time you see something happening. Its about feeling everything as if it were the first time on the first day of your life. |
HIM – Rebel Yell Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Greatest cover ever!!!!!! XD |
HIM – Larger Than Life Lyrics | 17 years ago |
is this for real? if so, where can I find that song? I'm really shocked! o_O |
HIM – Drunk On Shadows Lyrics | 17 years ago |
On her once white wings She will be carrying the weight of our deeds And she bleeds for love Forever gone That verse keeps me puzzled, at sometimes makes me think of a girl who is dead, who has commited suicide after a loved one who is forever gone, but the once white wings and all the carrying our deeds thing its just like something completely different... She's blinded by the fear Of life and death and everything in between Those lines makes me think of a limbo, a place between heaven and hell, she is afraid to live and afraid to die so she doesnt knows where to be... but those are just some of my ideas |
HIM – Killing Loneliness Lyrics | 17 years ago |
When I first heard this song I too thinked it was a love song, but then I realized It had nothing to do with it, it was much more dark than that, so I though it was about a guy using a gir just to kill his loneliness, but now that I heard this drug addict friend of his version it really makes sense! woah! killing loneliness is deffinitely a really powerful song! |
HIM – Funeral of Hearts Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Great song, "three little words and a question, why?" probably my fav part, and I'm not sure why but I cant help but imagine someone saying his/her lover "I love you" those being the three little words of course, and the other person asking why? , like why do you love me? really sald but beautiful |
