Gogol Bordello – Punk Rock Parranda Lyrics 17 years ago
Um, I thought it was "In this kind of town" rather than "In this gutter town." ??
I've also got one of the "inaudible" lyrics for y'all: "Music is only background for dying"
And it's "But maD, they don't get mad!"
Also, "The sociological balance is upset" towards the end.
My fave part of the song is when he sings about the absurdity of how someone kicked in the head is more likely to sue than to actually get mad. heehee.

"Yo man, how's your blackout?!"
Eugene was supposed to have written this during the blackout in the northeast states a few years ago.
I personally think Eugene's energy and passion comes from his underlying philosophies... this song is a good example of that. Sadly, and ironically, it seems inevitable that most of his messages will be lost on the masses who eagerly await "Start Wearing Purple" during GB's shows. More reason for Eugene to keep campaigning with his ideas...

Gogol Bordello – Let's Get Radical Lyrics 17 years ago
yay. Eugene's at it again. Protesting the canned culture, the zombie-like way so many people simply fall into step with it. I'm amazed no one else has commented on this one. If nothing else, the opening is hilarious! I want that on my alarm clock in the morning! I'd always wake up with a smile!!!

Gogol Bordello – Huliganjetta Lyrics 17 years ago
Oh, dear... I think enough of the lyrics are botched here to obscure the meaning of the song, but the person who attempted this still deserves some credit...
The "inaudible part" is "to myself I quietly repeat it."
Also, "public wisdom is the rage" is actually "the public wisdom is deranged."
And also it's... "Once I am over border, I will send you pretty postcard, with three heartfelt cliches."
I have to wonder if there's another version of this song floating around out there somewhere????
I LOVE this song. He's singing to us "secluded freaks." Don't give up. Don't fall for the lies, the illusion.

Gogol Bordello – Underdog World Strike Lyrics 17 years ago
This is yet another song criticizing the oppressiveness of the priviledged "leisure class" and at the same time celebrating the idea of a gathering of an "underdog world strike" in protest. Love it.

Gogol Bordello – Not a Crime Lyrics 17 years ago
"Sitting and dangling my foot, Without desire to work"
Maybe he's simply referring to the frenetic pace of modern life... everyone's rushing around trying to make more money to buy more (ultimately meaningless) stuff - remember the programmed robots who are buying and buying?
I'm just trying to think outside of the obvious... something I think Eugene would appreciate. But who know, maybe it is just about drugs - that would be disappointing.

Gogol Bordello – Through the Roof 'n' Underground Lyrics 17 years ago
There are a few errors in the lyrics here...
Firstly, the "inaudible" part would be "secluded freaks."Secondly, it's "between the borders, there real countries hide"
-Secluded Freak

Gogol Bordello – Baro Foro Lyrics 17 years ago
OMG, this is amazing when they play it live! In four years I've never been able to find the meaning of the lyrics, but it doesn't take away from how great the music is. With GB, louder is always better, and this is a great example. I can get lost in this song... maybe the foreign lyrics help to create the effect. Hm. Maybe I shouldn't get it translated.
Our silver plane now will be leaving......

Gogol Bordello – 60 Revolutions Lyrics 17 years ago
Yeah, Eugene's never been especially reluctant to express his thoughts on this subject. ;) These guys are the anti-thesis to the corporate-sponsored, canned mus-ak that's all over the place these days. I think they wrote this song just in case anyone missed this tiny, little detail.
