dude, it's so obvious this song is about smoking a little bit of the ganja.

imo, the growing part is talking about the phrase "weed brings people closer" & that you can be afraid of what people say about it, or you can try it.

your reflexes are slow when you're high & usually if you're around someone sober that doesn't know that you're high they'll probably think your "stupid" or "dumb". kidnapped root? self explained.

this is one of those songs where you can basically relate it to any "messy" relationship situation. not necessarily an age gap relationship.
my two cents, though. it reminds me of my ex boyfriend of two years. we'd get together for a couple of months, & then break it off for a couple of months. it was messy. & then afterwhile, we just kept us breaking up & getting back together on the "downlow" because, really, it wasn't anyone's bussiness. & even though, right now i'm in love with a different guy (aka i "washed my hands clean"), there will always be a part of myself with my ex. ofc, he was my first love. what i'm trying to say is, this song to me, basically means that it's a messy situation & even though they shouldn't get into this, they do anyway for the sake of love. |
