The message of this song is very obvious, so I think I'll stick to the mechanics of it in my commentary. A BEAUTIFUL song, beautiful piano bit, especially gorgeous live and with piano and guitar. Delta is amazing, and she should definitely write more with Audius, with how well this one came out. It's fitting that it was her first no.1 single. She says that this was the one really defining song for her, that made her feel like Delta Goodrem. And it was worked really well into Neighbours, too. In all, this is just a beautiful song, perfectly showcasing Delta's abilities--at singing, at acting in Neighbours, at playing the piano. I would not be disappointed if a few more Born To Try-like songs came out in the future (like Be Strong and Together We Are One...) |

This is one of the few songs Delta wrote completely by herself. I think it's a beautiful one. It's obviously about something that has happened abruptly that has shaken her, but in a good way, and she knows that she'll be able to handle whatever it is. It's a very individual song, in all, very strong. |

This is most likely about some girl who was in love, and expected to be able to be so forever. But then maybe something happened and shook that, and I think this is about the disillusionment of realizing that not only are you not in love, but you never were. |

This is a beautiful song, about memories... and sometimes memories you would prefer not to have. Like that moment when suddenly you discovered you were too grown up for cartoons, or the relationship you used to have with your parents, that they would be so proud of you that they would cry when you did something simple. This is an indulgence for the innocence inside, a few childish things she allows herself to do, "for the little girl inside," to prove to herself that all hope isn't gone, that she is still an innocent, deep inside. It's a very thoughtful song, and the piano is just gorgeous. Delta has a wonderful voice. |
