"dust in the wind" COULD be kind of like we are being carried along to our destiny by something great and powerful? the other way of seeing it is that we are just small particles of dust mixed into the vast air? "Just a drop of water in an endless sea." and it's just telling us not to take things too seriously, and not to take ourselves too seriously? "All we are is dust in the wind. Dust in the wind. You know how some songs just speak to you? yeah.. this one spoke to me. maybe cuz of the situation i just experienced/am experiencing... To me the song means just this... The singer had someone great in his life, and this person had to leave for whatever reason "last time i talked to you you were lonely and out of place". the singer just wants this person to... not change"I'm praying that you don't burn out, or fade away". because he wants his friend to come back to him, and be the same person he/she was before. He KNOWS he/she is out there, "somewhere out there", and now the singer is just hoping and wishing that this person will remember him and come back soon. .. yeah that probably makes noooo sense. haha |
