I am obsessed with this song! It's amazing. I think it's about how he gives everything and leaves it all on the stage but people still aren't satisfied and want more. I don't know if it's intentional but the chanting of Shoot it shoot it out cause the want it want it now now is kind of like an onomatopoeia.. I can just imagine a little kid saying I want it now Now NOW NOW NOW!!! It'll probably be their biggest hit because it's incredibly catchy. Which means ol Jesse will have to sing his song about not feeling like he is ever enough for the rest of his career :-/ |

^^^Wasn't that amazing??? So I'm sittin watchin Storytellers..and I'm thinking about World Wide Suicide, and my little paper thingy I wrote about it and its argument..and I was trying to determine which was the strongest line from the song..and the one I chose was and in all the madness thought becomes numb and naive And I chose this one, because as a Conservative..its one of the lines that really still appeal to my views. We are becoming numb to the war, and we do take things for granted sometimes. So what do you think is the most powerful line from this song?? Also, watch Storytellers! Great playing..and getting into Eddie's head is always a treat! |

| i dont think pearl jam is pulling any type of "green day" (its odd though, i like green day now bc theyre harder). eddie has always been very political and spoken out. i remember watching an outtake or something from their unplugged performance where eddie made some comment about women not having abortion choices. hes always been political and voicy on social issues. so no selling out yet | |

richie8092, my reply is this: i dont have to agree with a song to feel it. i love music and pearl jam makes amazing music. i also love eddies voice, he is one of my favorites. but onto the lyrics, for me i dont have to agree with something to know its written well. i know eddie has a lot of passion behind that song and i appreciate that, even if i dont agree with it. i think its a great thing that republicans like pearl jam. it just shows we can put politics aside and listen to the music. |

im glad to see that im not the only PJ fan that doesnt agree with their political views. its odd actually, im a huge republican but most of the bands i love are very liberal. but if you have a message you can write well. great lyrics by eddie. he is a genius. music is great. first time i heard it it was at the end, i had to hear the whole thing to fall in love with it. alreadly preordered the cd! the bonus live disc reeled me in |
