Boo Hoo Bush won in 04. Get over it. This CD sucked. Green Day needs to go back to nimrod days. The only reason I looked at these lyrics is because a friend told me that he thinks this is a rip of the Smashing Pumpkins song 1979. I disagree

I agree with couldntbeworse381, the lyrics don't point towards anyone in particular at all. I think the anti Bush theme of the video came from the director of the video. (Floria Sigusmondi) Who maybe when Floria heard this song she thought of Bush. Or maybe the idea was Incubus's and Im wrong all together.

Green Day – Holiday Lyrics

I like Green Day's old stuff but to me this album is more about their opinions rather than the music. I understand that most songwriters write about opinions, politics, and feelings and things like that but American Idoit is a little over the top. Its kind of funny they sing about seeing through the properganda of the war and Bush, but thats all this ablum is "left wing properganda" And if what CoinXOperatedXGirl said was true about Michael Moore inspired them to write this album than Green Day should consider calling it a career. Sorry but I miss Dookie and Nimrod.

The Smashing Pumpkins – Geek U.S.A. Lyrics	18 years ago
This song is about crack or in other words "geek" in street terminology. That explains things like "shot full of diamonds," and the fall into euphoria in the middle. I'm told this song is structured as a Crack trip as well.
