Iron Maiden – Infinite Dreams Lyrics 15 years ago
i think paccy is on to something with the focus on afterlife and also on judgment i.e. "Where would you end in Heaven or In Hell?". fantastic fantastic song!

according to (http://www.collegian.psu.edu/archive/1989/03/03-24-89tdc/03-24-89darts-09.asp), the song is about a dead soldier. really cool song.

this is a song that my sister used to play all the time when it came out. good hooks - great pop song.

AC/DC – For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) Lyrics 17 years ago
btw: that saying "for those about to die, we salute you" is featured prominently in spartacus - a classic film about not only gladiators but rebellion. this song is killer. what the hell is a "guitar bite" ?

Megadeth – I Thought I Knew It All Lyrics 17 years ago
can't really figure this one out - it's kind of vague. it seems to be about learning and growing. like when you look back at the person you were and realize you didn't know sh*t.

this song has a killer guitar riff in it. I LOVE IT.

Queen – All Dead, All Dead Lyrics 18 years ago
how does "and still i hear own sweet song" fit in with the cat theory? maybe it was a bird? well, it's a brilliant song.

lyrically explicit but damn i love the beats on this track.

Lynyrd Skynyrd – Free Bird Lyrics 18 years ago
i really never got why the guitar work in Freebird is so revered. compare it to any good blues guitarist (buddy guy, albert king, gatemouth brown, etc.) and one wonders if collins and co. were holding their guitars the right way.

an interesting angle xdontsayitsoverx. "'Cause there's too many places I've got to see" (vietnam?, laos?) . "Lord knows I can't change. Lord help me, I can't change". (grenada, nicaraugua, panama, afghanistan, iraq, etc.)

Wu-Tang Clan – Triumph Lyrics 18 years ago
from the 2nd disk from forever, this track (and deadly melody) stand out as the best. the form is spare - just like a roll call (with odb getting a little shortchanged) - shifting focus to the MCing. love it!

Queen – Love Of My Life Lyrics 18 years ago
this is a fantastic and truly beautiful song. i can't decide which is better: the studio or concert versions. they both leave me with chills. the live in japan one is pretty cool - freddie had a rapport with audiences that was unique and unmatched.
