me and my dad had this arguement about whether it says "grey" or "grave" and he was at work and he works at a music store and i called him one night and he had the cd and he says ok this will tell us what it really says and what do you know i was right it says GREY im not sure why but thats what it says and my dad lost the bet.. if u think about it, it doesnt even sound like he pronounces the "v" sound for grave in the song so yea its definitely grey. the lyrics of his cd said so |

i think if freddie read all of these comments he would probably laugh his ass off and be like "damn people really think hard about my songs, i was only fucked up when i wrote it" lol but no seriously i think this song has a lot to do with his sexuality and religion clashing and it might have alot to do with his past since he was sent off to boarding school when he was younger for some odd reason. wonder why..? but i think he knew he was different and maybe looked down upon for having that "bohemian" way of life in which he was "living a wandering or vagabond life." |

i think mostly everyone is off target. this song is clearly about a man who has too much time on his hands and finds himself dressing up in womens clothes and is asking himself rhetorical questions like "whos that casting devious stares in my direction" when hes looking in the mirror dressed up and at the end hes sayin to his mom this must be his dream because he wants to be a woman. |

I think this song is about a man (the narrator) that is having an african american guy come fix his house. Now, next to the song title, it says bigut2, and a "bigot" is a racist person. And he says to his wife "I am feeling really stupid now" because the whole time he was probably talking bad about blacks and she "knew" this carpenter once meaning she had dated him before. And the narrator, being a bigot, never expected that from his wife. |

I think this song is definitely an addiction to a drug and someone is nagging him about it. He's done it a thousand times and has tried to quit a thousand times and he's telling this person that he will stop and do anything for their forgiveness. He asks "Joe" for a buck for some "food" but really he uses it to get a drug of some kind, and 2 hours later his addiction is "lapping at his heals" again. |

I think this song is about a woman who knows her husband is cheating on her with other women and she will "give" herself to anyone who would know that hes doing it and would cross the line of talking to her about it. She always thought that she would be happiest with him, but in the end, she figures out that she could've been happier without him. In the second verse it says "while you were sleeping with angels, he was under the bed" and i think he means that she was praying for an answer (the 3rd verse says so to) and while she was doing so, he was getting in bed with other females. Get over regret simply means that she needs to get over him and realize that it was not her fault because she would give him love and affection but he would never ask for it (or crow for repair). At the end it says "reading fault lines of a shell of a man" and this could mean that she would think of all his faults and she knew what he was doing and she would pray and pray but never questioned him about it and never crowed for a repairing of the relationship. |

I think this song is about a man who is getting older or someone who hasn't dated in awhile (i.e. greying tower alone on a sea) and has found a girl that is younger and brings out the side that he has lost from getting older (you became the light on the dark side of me). And as we know, when men get older or inexperienced, their ability to perform sex could get slimmer and i think when he says "and did you that when it snows, my eyes become large..." he means snowy weather usually keeps people inside to be warm and his eyes become large because when him and the young girl are inside there is nothing much to do but get busy if you know what i mean. and the light that she shines reveals his young side. and he says its strange because she is younger than him and she has given him sex that he has never experienced before, and the reason why i think she is younger is because he says "kiss from a rose on the grey" and a thriving and lively rose could symbolize youth and life and grey could symbolize aging. and when he says "you remain my power, my pleasure, my pain" he could mean that he feels strong when he's with her and loves the feeling but at the same time he feels pain because he knows that its just the sex that keeps them together, and the sex is a growing addiction that he cannot deny or pass up. |
