Those who have Rock Band 2 for PS3, get this song from your 20 free song pack. It's the toughest song on there, but it's the most fun to play, IMO. Granted, they do cut out right before the polka part, but honestly, I don't think anyone except Schwarzenegger would have the energy to play the whole 8 1/2 minutes or so.

Fucking amazing song. The talent behind Dimmu Borgir are musical geniuses...mixing the raw, driving sound of metal with a classical, Wagner-esque orchestra for backing sound is nothing but genius awesomeness. While it may still sound like your everyday, run-of-the-mill black metal song (growling vocals, 6/8 timing, orchestral sounds), this song ups the ante on everything black metal sounds like and stands for. This is the perfect opening song for them live (I saw them with Danzig on this year's "Blackest of the Black" tour), and I wish I knew the song before seeing them so I can scream and sing with, what I feel, is the most entertaining and musically talented black metal band of all time.
All you shitbags talking about the apocalypse and how it will be "paradise" to the believers know nothing about your religion or what your leaders stand for. The Bible is nothing but a collection of bedtime stories written for guideline purposes on how to live an honest, self-sufficient life. Noah's Ark? Never happened. Moses parting the Red Sea? Fuck that. How come God doesn't want to talk to anybody in this day and age? Because he never talked to anybody in the past. Fuck religion. this song is AMAZING. how wayne is able to fuckin' sing his parts just blows my mine...I wish they'd play this live. also, to those who've see the "x-rated" dvd, you know the little skeleton toy wayne was playing with in the studio while they were recording this song? does anyone know where I can find one? because a) they're so damn cute, and b) I want to make a stop-motion music video for this song, and I'd really like to use a toy that looks like that.
another note about this song: the drum part isn't very hard at all. the bass drum is always on 1, 2, 3, and 4 and on the "and" of 4 (the eighth note before 1) during everything except for the verses, tony's part, and the very end. the verses the bass drum is on every beat, and the hi-hat and snare alternate eighth notes (1+2+3+4+=hatsnarehatsnarehatsnarehatsnare). I dunno, it just sounds a lot tougher than it is; hell, I've got it down, me and my friend jam to it every so often |

this song is about one summer that totally somehow related to three seperate groups of my friends, and I didn't even realize it until I listened to this song closely.
"i learned alot today..."
-that verse is about my friend alex. he's a man-whore, or so he dubs himself, and the last day of school last year (my junior year), he was able to kiss every girl in our english class. he got laid later that day, too.
"sip a drink of the alcohol..."
-this verse is about a few of my friends in our school's Key Club. they went to the state championships last summer, and got reeeal fucked up (or so I heard; I''m not in Key Club with them) in their hotel room one night. all I remember was that they told me that brownie drugs, a toilet, and poop was all involved in one way that I probably blocked out of my mind for a good reason.

-the last verse is about one day over the summer when my parents were away on a cruise. I invited like 10 friends over...making fun of each other's moms...my bathroom wall got busted...and I charged the pizza to the house. the music wasn't way too loud, but it was loud enough.
all in all, it was a great summer, and this song always brings back memories. |

well, I think what tom is trying to say is that the kids he sees are the ones who don't conform in his mind. if you claim to be a non-conformist with other non-comformists, you're conforming to your own clique. it may not be one that people find "normal," but you're still part of something. if you were a loner, say, and had no one to hang out with or who cared for you, then you can probably call yourself a non-conformist by not following any set rules. but yeah, I hear what some of you are saying; tom didn't realize by making this song, he's proving that the non-conformist kids conform to their own beliefs. it's reverse hypocracy, and I find it funny. |

this has got to be the best suicidal tendencies song ever. period. it's funny, it's sadistic (sort of), and, musically, it's some hard shit. I especially like how the music builds up at the end of each of the verses, as if mike's anger is just continually building; then when it hits the chorus, it just lets loose...then calms back down until the end of that verse.
the part about him getting hit by a car isn't about suicide, as c_o_c_o pointed out. I think it's just a typical "woe-is-me" statement, after giving up on trying to convince the people that he's not crazy. |

This song touches me in a spot no other song has touched me before. I met my friend Desiree at the beginning of the school year my freshman year (2004-2005) while joining the dance team. We weren't really that close, but we talked to each other every once in a while. When the J.V. dance team really got started, however, in the middle of the year, we started talking more and more. This past January, Desiree passed away to leukemia. It was really, really heartbreaking and ironic when I got home after her funeral that I put my iPod on shuffle, and the very first song that came on was One Year, Six Months, which, at that time, was about when I met Desiree. I'll never forget her, and this song makes me think of her every time. |

Two words sum up this somg: Mosh Pit. Not the meaning, but what happens when you see them in concert. From where I was on the floor (about 10 rows of people back from the stage), there was one mosh pit behind me, three more behind it, and about three on the other side of the catwalk in the middle of the floor. If I was sitting back on the stands, I'm sure there would me more. I saw Limp Bizkit in concert; I was in the stands at the very far back end of the stadium, and the max number of pits I saw was two. TWO! 7+ mosh pits is just incredible for me to see (this is coming from a 4 time concert-goer, so yeah). |
