The Smiths – How Soon Is Now? Lyrics 16 years ago
I love this song and I can relate to it so much, being a pretty shy person myself. I see it is the singer saying how his shyness has become to devastating that it has gotten in the way of him ever finding love and being able to open himself up to people. When he speaks of his situation to others, they don't understand and tell him that it is his own fault for not being more outgoing, and that despite his insecurities and shyness he is still "human" and needs to be loved...

Creed – One Last Breath Lyrics 17 years ago
Hold me now
I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking
That maybe six feet
Ain't so far down

I love the chorus... the lyrics are so vulnerable. As if he is saying that he is at a seriously low point in his life right now and just needs someone to reach out to him and hold him back before he really go over the edge because he is so close to it.

Damien Rice – 9 Crimes Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this couple had a spark between them which never amounted into a relationship. They separated, went with other people, but the flame was still there. "And is that alright yeah? I give my gun away when it's loaded" and if you don't shoot it how am I supposed to hold it?" sounds sarcastic, meaning is it alright with you to give you my heart when it belongs to someone else? They're pointing fingers, blaming each other for not having taken action in pursuing their attraction. The video to this is really out there if you've seen it, and I think that the woman as the balloon represents the innocent dream he has of them being together, which could never be becase it was too late. when she shatters, the dream of them being together shatters as well.

The Killers – Bones Lyrics 17 years ago
I heard from an interview with Brandon Flowers that this song is about a fear in having sex. Flowers considers himself a devout Mormon and many of The Killers songs involve religious (explicitly Christain) faith and the influence it has in Flowers' life. It is mentioned in "All These Things That I've Done" the guilt he feels about the way he is living his life. Possibly this guilt was an obstacle for Brandon Flowers to allow himself pleasure and enjoyment in his life in differeny ways. in "Bones", it is in having sex. This seems apparant in the lyrics:

I never had a lover
I never had soul
And I never had a good time
I never got bold

and the repetition of of "it's only natural". It's as if he has had this epiphany now that he has machured that that there's nothing wrong with having sex and it is nothing to feel guilty about; that his entire life he had this notion that sex was dirty or wrong, and now he's fully come to terms with himself being a sexual being.

Radiohead – Fake Plastic Trees Lyrics 18 years ago
this song has really impacted me, since the first time i heard it... it's just amazing, i love radiohead.

anyway, what i've seen looking into in this song is pretty much along the lines of what most of you have had to say... and i don't know if anyone has also mentioned something like this, but for me it reminds me of the futuristic books i have read in the past (Anthem, Fahrenheight 451, The Giver) ... and this is the society that we ourselves have created, and its like the outcome of a previous "utopian-like" one that had came previously, where everyone is in a state of misery, numb and burnt out from creating such idealistic lifestyles and expectations, and they have all forgotten what is real because they are no longer real. they are all like robots in a sense. so i see this guy looking in on a world from the outside, at this girl he loves who has fallen into the pragmatic traps of the society, and he wishes he could save her, but he also feels that it's too late, because she too shares the extreme expectations of everyone else in her world and he could never be up to par with that... and so he just falls into a state of hopelessness and despair.

Tracy Chapman – Change Lyrics 18 years ago
i really like this song a lot. my interpretation is that if even you were given all of the outcomes of your life- would you bother to go out of your comfort zone of complacence and change your ways? Like how much would it have to take for you to realize the way your living is not productive
