Kanye West – Never Let Me Down (feat. Jay-Z & J-Ivy) Lyrics 18 years ago
I can't believe they would make an allusion to "Amistad" "I'm trying to give us, us free like Cinque. Excellent song with great lyrics talking about never giving up because God will never let you down. Not to mention, Kanye and Jay-Z are always a tight team. (see also Diamonds Are Forever Remix with Jay)

Linkin Park – Numb/Encore Lyrics 18 years ago
While numb was a halfway decent song, adding Jay to the mix makes it incredible. The only problem is that Jay takes center stage and his flow leaves LP in the dust. While I'm not a big fan of either Jay or LP, I have to admit this is tight.

Linkin Park – In The End Lyrics 18 years ago
It's really hard for me to hate on Linkin Park, but the fact is that this song and numb are the only decent songs that they have. I mean Linkin Park has so much potential, but they go and waste it on half baked, stereotypical metal with screaming and repetitive guitar riffs. These guys could do so much better, I mean Chester Bennington has a beautiful voice, but he wastes it on all the albums by screaming and yelling 90% of the time. LP could also learn to use better song structure and make more use of their MC, whose name escapes me right now. So, everyone like me will just have to cross their fingers for the day that LP stops being a bunch of angsty, commercialized teenagers and turn into true musicians who will go on to make some truly awesome albums.

Oh, I forgot...This song's all right, nice lyrics and excellent use of the...MC...damn, I can't remember the name...

C'mon Linkin Park, you can do it...

Eminem – When I'm Gone Lyrics 18 years ago
By the way, if the only rapper you listen to is Eminem, you are definitely a white person who has no understanding of hip-hop/rap. Thank you for your patience. Now I'll cut to the chase. In my opinion, Eminem is probably one of the most overrated rappers of all time, seriously. But then again, so is everyone else who has even a small amount of talent in this gangsta rap wasteland. (Jay-Z, Tupac, and B.I.G) So naturally, since Em is more talented than most rappers, becomes big. (And it actually helps that he's white, because he's gained quite a following with cultureless caucasians, whether he likes it or not.) But this doesn't mean he can't have a few good songs. Well this is one of them. This is one of the few rap songs out there that really reflects the artist's soul, with its beats, lyrics, and energy. This, Slim Shady, and Lose Yourself are the only good Eminem songs out there. The others don't live up to those.

Oh, and by the way if you want to hear hip-hop/rap with ACTUAL meaning to it, you might want to listen to Gorillaz (Dirty Harry, Feel Good Inc., Clint Eastwood, etc.), Will Smith (First Rap Grammy, nuff said'[get Lost & Found]), or Kanye West (Diamonds From Sierra Leone Remix w/ Jay-Z, Jesus Walks, Hey Mama) who have stronger messages and lots of great songs.

Eminem – The Real Slim Shady Lyrics 18 years ago
This song and Lose Yourself are Eminem's only good rap songs. This is due to the fact that none of the other songs that Eminem made can touch these.

The Real Slim Shady: This song is funny, observant, and has some tight beats by my man dre. It also has a complex structure which makes it even more amazing. (And has a good chorus too)

Lose Yourself: Probably one of the best rap/rock songs ever, fighting against Rock Box, Walk This Way, and Feel Good Inc.

The rest of Eminem's songs are very novelty, because either they either are completely retarded "Ass Like That" or they're half-way decent "Like Toy Soldiers". I'm serious, none of those other singles compare to these. (With the slight exception of When I'm Gone, due to its emotional value.)

Kanye West – Hey Mama Lyrics 18 years ago
This a beautiful heart-felt song and probably one of the best in the album Heck even Kanye sings! (And doesn't do a bad job I must say.) But this is the "meaningful" track of this album (just like College Dropout/Jesus Walks). By listening to the nice chorus, his deep lyrics, and the sentimental music in the backround, you truly feel his love for his caring mother.

Kanye West – Touch The Sky Lyrics 18 years ago
Definitely a catchy and fun song with laid back lyrics. Kanye continues to impress even with his less popular stuff.

Kanye West – Gold Digger Lyrics 18 years ago
Like most of the people here agree, I hate gansta' rap, and I like how 'Ye gives us some of that old school vibe. Kanye is an excellent musician with an ear for hooks, beats, and song structure, he's made an essential hip-hop single.

Kanye West – Heard 'Em Say (feat. Adam Levine) Lyrics 18 years ago
Like a lot of his songs, it's a social criticism about relying on what people say, when they're not always right and their end of the deal might not help us out fully or come in time.

Kanye West – Diamonds from Sierra Leone (Remix feat. Jay-Z) Lyrics 18 years ago
I was disapointed to hear Diamonds without an actual message about it in the MTV version. That is until I found this to be the "actual" unedited version of the song, which also includes (gasp) JAY-Z in a monumental performance. This has some of the best lyrics I've seen in years (I haven't even seen many songs in alternative with lyrics as good as these.)

The only thing I don't understand is this verse;
"When I speak the diamonds in this song,
I ain't talkin bout the ones that be glowin
I'm talkin bout Roc-A-Fella, my home, my chain,"
What the hell's that supposed to mean? Is he trying to lead off some people to make it a little less critisizing to the gansta rap scene, or is there some kind of double meaning in this song? Can the diamonds also represent Roc-A-Fella? It does make sense when you pair it up with Jay's verse.

Anyway this is one of Kanye's best songs, and I have to give it to him for picking the best sample for it too. "Diamonds Are Forever" (James Bond Theme) That's my homedog 'Ye.

Kanye West – Home Lyrics 18 years ago
This an absolutely beautiful song with a catchy lyrical hook and some good lyrics by my man 'Ye. "Whoa/Never leave me alone/Tell em' holla at ya boy cause I'll be comin' home/I'll be comin' home" Great verses, but who is the one who sings that hook, and which CD does this song come from?

Franz Ferdinand – Auf Achse Lyrics 18 years ago
Actually this song surprised me, not because of its obvious lyrics of a distant romance, but that it's a DISCO song! If you hear the beat it's DEFINITELY disco (minus the heavy bass). It's an awesome song and best next to take me out.

Franz Ferdinand – Michael Lyrics 18 years ago
Tight song about a drunken man who finds a guy in a bar a wee bit too pretty (official meaning of the song according to FF web site). It's got a sweet riff, but it doesn't measure to the genious of Take Me Out, with its serious guitar. And last but not least, seriously, you guys can't be discriminating against homosexuals, they're humans too. (I got a gay friend and a bisexual one, but me and my straight friends don't discriminate.)
