Franz Ferdinand – Fade Together Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Actually, I think it's about a dying relationship "fading". This in turn makes him lose his light and fade too. In his desoeration to reunite them as they were, he asks her to go through it with him. |
Head Automatica – Please, Please, Please (Young Hollywood) Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Franz Ferdinand – You're The Reason I'm Leaving Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Theres no reference to America for Bush at all in this song. I think the meaning of this song is similar to Walk Away; He thinks he can cope without her, but both of them are fragile and are terrified of living without eachother. |

Switchfoot – The Blues Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This song is basicly saying the world has no hope. There is no net, no judgement day. The only time things will get better is when the sky falls down; when we are all dead. |
House of Heroes – Angels in Top Hats Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This is a tragic but beautiful song. |
Franz Ferdinand – Walk Away Lyrics | 18 years ago |
This isnt about Iraq. it's about a relationship breaking down. "At the beginning of the song He appears indifferent Oh, and I am cold, yes I'm cold, but not as cold as you are I love the sound of you walking away, you walking away I love the sound of you walking away, walking away, hey, hey" Thats an arguement between him and his girlfriend, the mascara bit shows she's crying and distressed, but he doesnt give a damn. She storms off - He tells her to leave forever. "Why don't you walk away? Why don't you walk away? Why don't you walk away? No buildings will fall down Why don't you walk away? No quake will split the ground Why don't you walk away? The sun won't swallow the sky Why don't you walk away? Statues will not cry Why don't you walk away? Why don't you walk away? Why don't you walk away? Why don't you walk away?" She threatens to leave him, he asks her why she doesnt. He claims that his world wont change without her. "I cannot turn to see those eyes, as apologies may rise I must be strong and stay an unbeliever" He feels guilty for speaking to her like that, but he is stubborn and refuses to apologise. He misses her. "And love the sound of you walking away, you walking away Mascara bleeds into my eye Oh, and I'm not cold, I am old, at least as old as you are" He begins to realise how wrong he is, but still doesnt do anything about it, still believing that he is right. "And as you walk away, oh, as you walk away And as you walk away, my headstone crumbles down As you walk away, the Hollywood winds will howl As you walk away, the Kremlin's falling Oh, as you walk away, Radio 4 is static As you walk away, oh, as you walk away Oh, as you walk away, oh, as you walk away, hey" She finally leaves him, his world smashes. "The stab of stilettos On a silent night Stalin smiles and Hitler laughs Churchill claps Mao Tse-Tung on the back" Honestly, I have no idea. Though "stabs" and "slaps" are both strong violent words, and the mentioning of old leaders may again be about the state of his world? |

I agree with CBrownie. Christianity is there, but it's in what they aren't saying. It's almost as if he cant bring God into this.. |

Eisley – Telescope Eyes Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The older version sounds purer, and the message is less dilute. 'you freak' is used to show She wants the girl (I say girl, she's described as having a big dress and dirty hair) away so much she's trying to hurt them. I think they were once good friends, and though She feels superior, she longs to have that friendship again. "I cant be seen with you" Not wont be seen, or I dont want to be seen, but cant be seen. "Please dont make me cry" She's torn, and is aware of how cruel and selfish she is being. She's afraid of her new friend's opinion. She's also aware that she is just like the old friend, she's terrified of this being revealed. She's being someone else - the old friend's presence would disrupt this. Well, thats just how I see it.. |
