Nightwish – Wish I Had an Angel Lyrics | 17 years ago |
quiffporn said something that was very thoughtful, that the music isn't meaningless, just irrevelant to life. And I can see that in the lyrics. But, does it always have to be? The emotions are there, the power behind sound; that makes up the music too. And there are meanings that are universal that when one seeks would find, just as Krissychan interpreted. (A wonderful detailed interpretation too. ^^ Much appreciated.) My qualm rests within that it's irrelevent to life. True, but like books, it takes us to a different place where those rules do apply. A place like "Planet Hell" or where "End of All Hope" actually exists. So... how does it feel? That is where the power resides, for me at least. Anybody disagree? |
Fall Out Boy – Sugar, We're Goin Down Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Gun complex would make sense, after all the context says "loaded 'g**-complex' cock it and pull it". (Quote) "A god complex is a colloquial term used to portray a perceived character flaw as if it were a 'psychological complex'. The person who is said to have a 'god complex' does not believe he is God, but is said to act so arrogantly that he might as well believe he is a god or appointed to act by a god. Some people also call it a Messianic complex."(Wikipedia) Also, I hear God instead of gun in the song. It depends on how one intreprets the song. |
Ill Niño – Te Amo ... I Hate You Lyrics | 18 years ago |
The sheer power of this song is the emotion. "Te amo" in Spanish means "I love you." Right after that, "I hate you." I believe that since it is the first song on the CD Confession, it is like the person is just realizing exactly what s/he feels. Albeit violently, therefore something caused this outburst. In the line, "you are just another bitch and I know that you did it..." might mean that she was having an affair with someone else. This ties with, "but now you eat your words.." may mean that she's getting a taste of her own medicine. How is up to the imagination of the listener. "Eat your words and die..." is disturbing imagery... This song is a good stress reliever. |
