the songs abuot a young girl bein w. an older man..shes young and naive and thinks that him using her is love because she doesnt noe wat love is but then later she cant understand why he keeps leavin and mistreating her..shes in denial and is convinced that he loves her and jus wants him to tell her and to say he misses her jus like she tells him.. she uses the whole arresting thing as a threat cuz she wants him to say wat she wants to hear .. in the end it seems like [cuz of her anger] that shes over it but then u realize even after all that that she still convinced that wat they had was love and begs him to say he misses her... i also found kinda of interesting is the reccurring line in it :' missed me missed me now you gotta kiss me'.. it kinda gives it a playful/childish/immature feel and defines her state of mind at the time.. uhh yeaa.. u couldnt stop listenin to this song today.. and wen u listen to it in headphones the noises in the background passing from ear to ear jus makes it eerie.. i got chills the first time i listened to it loud w. headphones.. |

what i get outta the song is that its about being lonely enoguh to think back n remember people from ur past that u may not have treated rite n how u wanna go see them again but u jus havent gotten that lonely to actually go out n do so .. also the part "down to the river filled with regret i go down and i wonder if there was any reason left but just before my lungs could get wet i'm lonely, but i ain't that lonely yet" it sounds a bit like contemplations of suicide maybe..? wonderif theres any reason left to go on n then realizing jus before u go thru w. it that no u may be lonely n down n stuff but u havent gotten to that point where u jus give up..that part of this song jus makes it seem more clear that its about missing people that u mighta gone thru a bad time w. ["filled w. regret"] and wanting to go make things rite but realizing u havent gotten that 'lonely' to bring urself to do so.. well thats just my opinion.. its a really prett song tho.. |

i think the song is a very spiritual song. its about finding something bigger than yourself that moment where you find that theres sumthin greater than u really out there. i think the being so defeated part is being left in awe or wonder like that one moment that just blows you away. i think 'We knew all the answers and we Shouted them like anthems Anxious and suspicious that God Knew how much we cheated ' means that we think we know what lifes all about, what makes the world go round and were convinced were right so we 'tell it like it is' to everyone else but theres that creeping suspicion that were really not so sure as to what were talkin about and that God sees that we go around thinkin we know it all wen were really all so ignorant. "There's no indication of what We were meant to be Sucking up to strangers throwing Wishes to the sea" i think that means that we really dont noe why we exist. we dont know why we were put here and what were supposed to do. and "sucking up to strangers throwing wishes to the sea" is like prayer. its questioning whether there really is a god or sumthin greater than us [god being the 'stranger'] and that we 'throw wishes' [pray] to what seems like no one. i dont noe this is jus my point of view. i never really analysed the verses but they are really pretty. i never actually listened to this song and thought it was really sad but its not a happy song either i always just found it really moving. |

| i heard this song so many times b4 but then i really listened to it once n i always break done hearin it ever since...my parents divorced wen i was 6 but the funny thing is that i never wanted them to b together n i dont want them back together..i cant even imagine it..wat i think made me cry about the song was that my mom would always b unstable n break down n get outta control wen her n dad would fight (after the divorce mainly) and stuff like that..i dont want them to b a family ..i noe there not rite 4 each other as sad as that may b and i cant relate to "goin back to that" cuz we never were a happy family but i think those lines hit me cuz i wish that evn tho my parents arnt meant for each other that theyd at least b friends or even friendly.. its hard knowin that ur parents werent meant 4 each other cuz wat does that meen for u?..does that meen u werent meant to be either..iono i cant really xplain it well so i hope sum1 gets wat i meen... neway i love this song a lot ..i used to b a huge pink fan but im not really into her nemore nonetheless its a great song.. | |
